I just finished the Esthetician program at MetrOasis. I had the best experience at this school. I have had my hair care license for 10 years from another school in town and I am SO glad I chose here to attend. Sigel and Sue have restored my faith within the beauty industry. Not only are they extremely knowledgable and teach you so much, but they are the kindest and most honest couple I have ever met. If you choose this school, or are coming as a customer you will have the most professional and best experience possible. You will not regret it! more

I have been jumping from salon to salon for years now, just unable to find my true home. I recently went to MetrOasis not really expecting anything different. All I have to say is i WILL NOT go anywhere else ever again. I am use to having so many diff people do my foils that I wasnt scared. I was scheduled with Trista, the NEWEST student, and I will never go anywhere else. My hair has never looked this good and the service has never been that amazing. I would recommend this beauty school (SALON) to anyone and everyone. more

I went to MetrOasis today for the first time, based solely on their website and reviews I found online. I was just looking for something "different" to pamper myself, and I was more than pleasantly surprised! I've never been in such a unique, eclectic, warm, professional salon! Sue, Sigel and their students run a first class establishment! You end up getting double the service with the students wanting to do their best and Sue and Sigel mingling and supervising, making sure the students and customers know all the options for the results they're looking for. I was a little nervous about letting someone I'd never had contact with before do my foils and cut - but this is probably the BEST color job I have ever had! I will definitely be back! I just finished my 350 hrs for the Esthetics program and it has been one of the most funnest, educational experiences ever. Before school started one person tried to alter my decision about coming here and I'm SO happy I made my own choice and ignored her. I have learned so much beyond eshtetics that I could take with me for the rest of my life. Not only did I learn esthetics, I was taught things about business ethics, procedures, laws, how to deal with different people, and so much more. I'm 22, I have my degree from UAA and have worked at a few professional offices, I have never learned this much in such little time. I honestly wish the program was longer! This school is AWESOME and EVERYONE from the students to the clients LOVE Sigel and Sue. There are some people with different opinions but the school isn't your average school. It is very creative, very open, and things are done a bit different. If you want to go somewhere boring, lifeless, with lazy directors, go to the other school...I'm pretty sure they're looking for people! Make a good choice and go to MetrOasis for skin and hair and school! Pros: Fun, met new friends, GREAT advice, awesome programs! Cons: none more

This is a unique establishment with a lot of personality. Which is a style that works for me; I've been going there since I returned to AK in 2006. Went in for my 3rd highlight with current student Liz S., who is by the way, a color superstar. I am all shades of particular about how I want my hair, and kind of a neurotic customer to begin with and she and Sue always make me feel welcome, listen closely to what I want and deliver. Liz does great work and makes what could be a tedious and/or perilous procedure more like a day at the spa with friends. I have had the best highlights here, some great facials, and if I ever get the nerve, I'm going to have my Brazilian was done here. Not this week though. I usually pay about half of what I do in the expensive salons and most of the time the work is even better. Pros: Great service, low prices, fun students. Cons: I eventually have to leave. more

We have been very pleased with the quality of training of the Metroasis estheticians. Their students are fully prepared and ready to hit the ground running when they graduate. Metroasis is our school of choice when hiring estheticians at our Medical Spa and I will highly recommend this school and the quality of their training to anyone. I love shopping!!!!!! For clothing, shoes, and…….schools.. I am in beauty business for over 22 years. Throughout the years practicing in this field I have graduated from BEST beauty schools in Soviet Union, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, France and Alaska! And yes, before I did contact the Metroasis Beauty School I did my homework. I found this place a very professional, friendly, fun, positive and very advanced. The knowledge and skills our instructors helped us to acquire were way more than basic state requirements. Sue and Sigel are very dedicated experts, they always on top of new technology and market. I felt honored to be around these people. They not just taught me certain skills but became my mentors as well. If you know what you want and you are motivated to become a good beauty professional, this school is the BEST place in Alaska! They provided BEST tools and equipment you can find on Market for your training and to start new business, because you are taking it all with you after graduating! From the time the phone is answered to the time you are finished with your appointment, everything and everybody is porfessional and courteous! The facials are awesome! Ashley, a student stylist, is a natural and I have been using her ever since! Pros: Fantastic students! Cons: Not open on Monday more
