I had a LCD TV that was still under warranty sent to Marvin's by the warranty company. A month later and after three board replacements they still had no clue what was wrong. I finally got the warranty service to refund my purchase price, it's unknown if they ever got my original set fixed. more

How Rude! 5/4/2012

Our TV went on the blink and was still under warranty. This business is the only option as a repairer. It took two weeks for them to fit us into their schedule because we are on the northside of town. It is a warranty job! They would get paid but no .. we had to wait until it suited them! The woman on the phone was rude and turns out so were the two men that came to the house. It was like pulling teeth to get a response from either them as to what was wrong and what would happen now. So we waited two weeks for an appointment, they were here for 15 mins and now we have at least another week wait. They made us feel as if we were a bother. So they were rude, slow and arrogant. How they are still in business puzzles me because I would never recommend them to anyone. more

Rude and unorganized 9/16/2011

The company was selected to replace the lamp on my rear projection tv. The first contact was made after a referral was placed. I had a pleasant conversation with the first employee. I was disappointed when I received a call the next day from a different employee, with an attitude, about my referral. I explained that I already provided the information. This was a Tuesday and was told the lamp should be in on Friday. I asked to pick it up and put it in myself but was told ""no"" it would void the warranty if you touched the lamp and it blew out again. This comment shows the lack of knowledge of the product due to the fact the lamp in incased in a plastic cover and cannot touch the lamp. The next contact was when I called to ask when the lamp was coming in, this was on Tuesday. I was told that the lamp would take 7 to 10 days. The next morning I was awoken to the rudest person ever listed in the customer service industry. She told me that they would be at my residence today to replace the bulb, I ask if it could be another day. Response ""nope this is the only day, or we cant do it!"" They said they would be there between 3 to 5. I do no recommend a company that employs individuals with this type of behavior. more

Inflexible 8/29/2011

They say they only come to my side of town 1 day a week. I live 8 miles from the store!! Monday is the only day they come to the Westside really??? Ok well I can be home by 3:15 on Mondays. They called can't come today (Monday) because they alreay came by my area what??? Someone is home everyday by 3:15 if we know 24 hours in advance a someone is home all day Wed. and Thurs. every week. How can you not work me in when I live 8 miles away max 12 minutes?? So inflexible!! I will really rethink BestBuy warrenty when buying a TV because I have to deal with this company!! more

I dropped my tv off to get repaired, they called the next day saying it was fixed, said I did not have the cord pushed in hard enough, when I ask I much I owed, they said nothing, said they did not fix anything, if they were a bad shop they could had charged me any price for doing nothing, to the person that waited weeks for this shop to get parts, this happens, we keep one vendor for parts that keeps the price affordable where other vendors rape you causing your bill to go much higher, as for not calling you back, WALK IN THE SHOES OF A BUSSINESS OWNER, then you will see what he or she goes throughm, it is not just repairing, the job comes with politics & stress you do not see\r In fact I am calling them now to fix my tv, also about 10 yrs ago Police did a sting on rip off tv shops, this one was one of few that was honest more

Horrible Customer Service! 8/11/2009

They threatened to kick me out of their store for questioning their lies!!! \r They have had my HDTV for over a month. No status updates or reports were offered. They do not answer their phone, and they do not return voice messages or e-mails either. When I was able to contact them over the phone, they claimed that they had received a 'motherboard' (generic industry term) and were installing it that day (this is 3.5 weeks in). Over a week later I visited their storefront in person, and they claimed that they were awaiting a second part. When I asked if they had installed the 'motherboard' yet, they condescendingly stated that is was pointless to install the ‘motherboard’ without the other part that they needed, a power supply. I asked them how long this would take, and they stated that they are waiting on parts from the distributor (for 4 weeks??). I asked them how many parts distributors they had, and the response was a deflective redirection that did not answer my question (they obviously only have one parts distributor -- so if they don't have your part you are SOL). I then asked them why they stated that they claimed to be installing the 'motherboard' in my television a week-and-a-half earlier when they obviously were not doing that. At this point, the rather robust woman that I was speaking with informed me that she could see my agitation and she was becoming ""ticked"". She continued by threatening to kick me out of the store if did not stop questioning her about the details of my television repair. The absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Avoid Marvin’s Electronics at all cost. They will treat you like dirt. I consider myself an advocate of Mom and Pop businesses, but it is places like Marvin's Electronics that make me root for Corporate America. By the way, don’t let the positive reviews fool you, they were probably written by someone that actually works for Marvin’s Electronics.\r Cons: Everything more

Bad customer Service 5/7/2008

Poor customer service, doesn't show up for appointments, did not even call. Did not even call to reschedule. If companies treat the customers like this, how do they stay in business. Cons: Bad customer service more
