I visited the zoo recently during the week at mid-day. At this time it was full of school field trips and many groups of children everywhere. I did not see as many exhibits as I was expecting to see, but was pleased with what they did have to offer. I was kind of disappointed that there was not a great variety available, and the elephants were off exhibit for the day! I think that with the work they are doing now and the new area they are making it will be a great improvement. Either way, I'm sure I'll be visiting again soon.

My nephew likes this place. Train cars and jungle gyms galore, and theres always kiids his age to play with. Bring food and drinks and have a picnic on the lawn or benches. Parking isnt an issue. Only thing is that it gets a little lot, and the place is so big that you have to keep a close eye on your kid.

Staff is friendly and the prices won't kill your wallet. If you need to get a quick gift for that person who is hard to shop for, then you should go here.

The new field is amazing, a poor mans major league stadium. Lots of promotions, from free t-shirts to free cars. The team isn't bad either, some major prospects come and have come through this team. Refreshments are reasonably priced and you can have a good time without having to spend a lot. Parking i s hard so you'll probably have to pay for the lot.

We visited Tree Hill for the first time this summer and had a much better time than we expected to. There was no crowd at all and the nature center was beautifully kept. There was an inside display on the evolvement of nature in Florida, and examples of wild life in the Rain Forests across the world. They have a great walk through butterfly garden and hiking trails that including one that is handicapped accessible. Also there were exhibits that included other wildlife like goats, an owl, possums and turtles. The kids had a great time and the cost was a dollar for the kids and two for adults. Definitely a great place to spend a morning with the family!

I went for the first time shortly after the grand opening not even sure how long ago this was now a few times recently. It is a beautiful building with a very nice gift shop. I am only disappointed that the restaurant Cafe Nola is not open for dinner on artwalk Wednesdays anymore, it was fantastic and innovative. A great place to meet up with friends especially on downtown's first Wednesday artwalk. The addition of the new downtown library just adds to hemming plaza. It looks like a big city museum and I am glad. I have felt Jacksonville has way more potential and fun than people give it credit for. Only boring people get bored.

More
The Alhambra Dinner Theatre has been producing professional Broadway style musicals and comedies for over thirty years. They offer 7 shows a year and you can purchase a season tickets or individual tickets. They usually have at least one show that is great for the kids. Last year we saw Cinderella and this year will be Beauty and the Beast. They also have a large buffet preceeding each live proformance. Items on the buffet include carved ham or roast beef, seafood newburg, chicken, an assortment of vegetables as well as different desserts.
