After shopping here for the past two decades, I sadly have to say farewell. I agree with the last review - it is quite unfortunate that this store NEVER has what I am looking for. If you are looking for something other than acrylic paints, canvases and picture frames - you'll need to go elsewhere. The employees, which have always been the strong point here, seem to be fed up as well. It is sad to see a place like this decline so quickly. For a small art shop, they house supply a variety of different mediums, as well as canvases, frames, etc. Unfortunately, I can never find what I am looking for. There is a limited selection, and within that limited selection, items seem to be permanently out of stock. If you have something very specific in mind, prepare to be disappointed. You don't expect much when you walk into Mon Mart, based on its spartan exterior and drab surroundings but, once inside, it's a different story. The staff - and I've met every one of them - are all working artists and they really know their stuff. They are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. As for the store - it's serious about art supplies. You'll find just about anything you're looking for in a variety of sizes by all major and many minor manufacturers. The prices are more than fair. Of course, you can get better discounts on the internet (but then there's that pesky shipping!). It's one of the last Bay Area Independents. Check it out.
