Not Impressed 11/22/2010

I love fine dining. I recently went to L?Anne?s restaurant for dinner but was not impressed by their services. The combination of the French and Asian foods is a unique idea, but I am afraid L?Anne fails to present the beauty of either cuisine. There was no atmosphere in there but quietness. They are two different things. It was a Friday night, but the place was not busy. That is actually not a good sign. more

Best quality food 1/7/2010

We went there with another couple for New Year's eve dinner, the food was exquisite, the atmosphere was calm and beautiful and the music was wonderful, the evening was so enjoyable that we would recommend this restaurant to all of our friends Pros: Food and Ambience Cons: Location more

L'Anne was excellent, foods were beautiful & delicious, service was wonderful, music recorded and live very nice 5/12/2007

First experience, wonderful restaurant. Three course dinner menu represented French and Asian foods very nicely, with a leaning toward Asian. The fresh seafood entree speicials should not be overlooked. Wine selections were not extensive but well representative and included ranges of very nice wines.. The chef's selection of desserts in the Sweet Trio is not to be missed and goes very well with a Navan aperitif. People who do not like L'Anne probably do not like Charlie Trotter's as well. Pros: Ambience, Service, Romantic Cons: Parking is a bit tricky. more

Maybe the Best 11/29/2006

Had lunch here today. Perhaps the finest dining experience I have had in a long time. My wife and I like to eat downtown because of the lack of quality and value in the suburbs, but then came L'Anne. Pros: Food Pairings Cons: Couldn't find one more

BAD MANAGEMENT/OWNER 6/5/2006

I was utterly shocked when I went to this restaurant about a month ago...the wine that we ordered, was opened at the bar by the manager. And then she tastes it! On top of that, the server accidently poors it to the wrong table...I can go on, but I have NEVER been to a fine dining restaurant, or anywhere, where the wine bottles purchased by the customer is not opened in front of the customer. Food was below average, salty, and not impressive. I would not recommend going here. more

teeny tiny portions+poor service=poor value 8/12/2005

The entrees are quite inventive and tasty but the portions are tiny tiny (grouper filet was about 1.5"" x 4"" x 1"" - my jaw dropped when I saw it and I actually stopped at McDonalds for fries after the meal). The service was below par for a restaurant in this $ range. The dining room is nice but got a bit too loud when a large group came in. Overall, I felt it was a poor value (our bill for 2 entrees, 2 salads and 2 glasses (short filled) of wine was $105 with tax&tip) and I would not return. Pros: creative entrees, not busy Cons: poor value, portion size, service more

Outstanding 10/31/2003

A group of us were in town and selected several restaurants to visit during the first week. We arrived at the restaurant and it was almost desserted. We feared we had made a mistake, but plunged on. Boy are we glad we did! In the three weeks we were in the area we visited this restaurant each week. The food was creative and among the best any of us had ever had. The squash soup is absolutely divine, as are several of the starters - the Puff Pastry with Stilton Blue Cheese was another favorite. The entress were excellent, and an off the menu fish special was especially liked. I highly recommend a visit. Don't be put-off by the lack of patrons. Consider it your bonus. You'll get great personalized attention and you won't be sorry. Parking is abundant near the restaurant, which is is downtown Wheaton. Pros: Creative Menu, Wine and Martini List, Great Desserts more
