This drive inn started on Liliha Street (really a hole in the way but i swear they have the best prices and tastest food there) and now expanding all over the mainland. It's really amazing how a little restaurant turned into something so big. There are L&Ls every corner you turn it seems. I'm not surprised though because their katsus and hamburgers are the best! more

Nice Local food 9/21/2005

This is the choice of most blue collared workers. Its fast, yummy, and large portions usually. I'd highly reccomend it if you just want a taste of local food. However, its very much like a local food Mcdonalds. If you want high end food served this would not be the place for you. Its a chain and some really look like hole in the wall type of places. more

Great food, not the healthiest (but what fastfood is??) 8/17/2005

Wow, the largest portions and a great taste to go with it. What more could you ask for? Well as the locals know, its not the cleanest restaurant around and you have to like barbecue Hawaiian style which is primarily made up of shoyu (soy sauce for our Caucasian visitors) and sugar. Lots of white rice (sorry no butter, hahahah). They have locations everywhere, the Wal-mart one is the newest and most "visually appealing", but you pay a "tax" for being in the high rent district. more

Great Food 8/5/2005

When my family is hungry and we want to eat a quick, inexpensive lunch we go to L & L Drive Inn. The menu is plain and includes local plates and loca meals like chili, saimin, sandwiches, french fries, all the fast food items that you find at other drive inns. We like L & L Drive Inn because the dining area is air conditioned and clean. The prices are just right for me since a lot of other diners are more expensive. The food is usually hot and fresh. more

Plate lunches to go 8/5/2005

L&L Drive in has to be synonymous with Hawaiian plate lunches. It started it all with favorites that everyone has tried to duplicate. Plates like Mochiko Chicken, Chicken Katsu, Hamburger Steak, and many others are some of my favorites. If you're in a rush or you just finished going to the beach, L&L is a great place to visit for some good grinds. more
