Kroger's is sensory overload! 3/17/2006

Okay, I do like certain things at Krogers. The deli and meat departments are great. Sometimes I can find a good deal on sale items. I love the ice cream section. By far the best I've ever seen. The store though however tries to carry too many non-grocery items. I don't want to go to Kroger's for a bed comforter or TV. It clutters up the isles and that's not a good thing considering this Kroger's is always BUSY. Too much junk! Right now, they are expanding and will be carrying more stuff - toys, kitchware, etc. Let's just hope the isles have more room. more

Nice store, good gas prices and some specialty items 8/2/2005

There are actually three Kroger Supermarkets in Mansfield, this one on Lexington Ave, in the Appleseed Center, one on Ashland Road and a brand new one on Park Ave, in the Hobby Lobby Shopping Center. The one on Lexington is probably the oldest Kroger, building wise, though the one on Ashland Road may be older but the store was built new behind the old Kroger and the old store was knocked down. All the Kroger’s provide ample parking for their customers, and all have gas stations, which during promotions can be a good choice for gas with the discounts Kroger’s offers. The Kroger’s on Lexington has a very upscale appeal to it, even having a Starbucks store inside for the convenience of their customers. The store is bright, large and clean. The staff is courteous, the shelves are well stocked and this particular store always seems to have enough check out clerks to get you out of the store in good time. Weekends, however, can be extremely crowded, especially holiday weekend. The selection, as I said, is upscale, having a much deeper selection of “specialty items”. There is an in store deli where you can order foods and sit and eat. There is a fresh bakery that is now common to all the Kroger stores, providing specialty breads as well as the regular white breads and rolls. Kroger’s been servicing the Mansfield area for many years. Many of the locals remember the old “jingle” associated with Kroger’s. They have a reputation of providing good quality products at affordable prices. While not my favorite place to shop, it is convenient on occasion and I do stop in here for specialty items I can’t get at the Kroger on Ashland Road, which is closer to me. And it is pleasant. However, because I also like some items that are even more specialized, this Kroger does not carry a lot more than a few items I will pick up on occasion. Overall, this is a nice store, carrying the usual stock items, a few specialty items and offering the gas discounting that has become important lately with high gas prices. A nice place to shop if you are in the Appleseed area. more
