There are not a ton of options for kids wishing to play indoor soccer during the late fall-late winter months. That is the only reason why my kids have continued to play here and why I have occasionally coached their teams. The scheduling leaves a lot to be desired. Admittedly, KISS is trying to accommodate a large # of teams at different levels, but this is not rocket science. There is little reason to wait until a season has started in order to release a full schedule. One should not have to wait until 2 days before the season starts to find out the time of the first match and then to have to wait for days after that to receive part of the rest of the season's schedules. The quality of refereeing is also all over the place. One might receive a stoned high school kid who can't tell the difference between his whistle and a bong (and a foul or a face plant) or one might encounter a well-qualified, highly-experience referee interested in officiating a fair match and teaching the game to kids. Oh, and don't ever ask KISS referees or staff about applying rules in a transparent or consistent way. They will blow you off or reply with "referee's discretion"--which is code for "we don't give a rat's ass as long as we can avoid liability." In sum, anyone with above-average organizational skills who wishes to make some decent money and a contribution to the growth and development of soccer in the Commonwealth should seriously consider starting her/his own indoor facility.
