This restaurant calls itself Chinese Dim Sum, Vietnamese, Thai, and Japanese. The owners are Vietnamese. First off, a little background info on me, the reviewer, would explain the negative review: I am Korean/Japanese female. Considering I grew up with authentic Japanese/Korean food in addition to having eaten home-cooked meals at Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese, and Thai friends' homes, I can say with complete accuracy that this restaurant is all American Chinese food, and **FAR** from an American-standard Chinese Dim Sum (the "dim sum" menu only includes what anyone would find at an American Chinese Delivery Restaurant), there was no Thai food on the menu, and did not order the extremely overpriced pho (only Vietnamese on the menu).
Sashimi:
Terrible, even for my American standards. The sashimi was served warmer than room temperature, the eel was terrible and microwaved for too long thus became soggy.
Service:
Below average, I ordered a side of rice and it never came. I also ordered Toro/Fatty Tuna, and it never came and finally when I asked a waiter, he said that they did not have any today. Later, looking at the check, we were charged for the Fatty Tuna which never came, although they fixed it after mentioning it to them. Some of the prices on the menu were very odd compared to the majority of Asian restaurants that consider themselves higher-end dining. I noticed that they charge 50 cents PER CUP of tea, which I have never before encountered.
Pros:
Crab Rangoons were the best we have encountered. Coconut Ice Cream was, well, ice cream, but at least it wasn't terrible like the rest of the meal.
Although I am always disappointed at the fact that Rochester's Asian restaurants are overpriced, and catered more to American tastes than most Asian restaurants in other parts of the states, I was disgusted at this establishment and how they attempt to fool Americans in Rochester to be a near-authentic, high-quality food restaurant.
