Perfect relaxation on a budget 3/16/2011

I was having a very stressful week and on a whim I decided to book a massage here since it was best on citysearch. I agree with most of the opinions. Don't go here if you are looking for a spacious, pretty spa that overcharges you for the services to pay for that large, modern looking spa. If you are looking for a great relaxing massage this place is perfect. It is fairly inexpensive too. I got the anti stress detox treatment which includes a scrub and 50 min massage. I've never had a scrub before and was a little worried it would hurt. It didn't. It felt amazing and rejuvenating. My skin has never looked better. Patrick, my massage therapist, was so friendly and fun to chat with. Usually I am kind of uncomfortable with male therapists and try to book female ones, but Patrick was very respectful and I felt at ease the whole time. After the scrub you quickly wash off in the attached bathroom which has dim lighting, but is obviously very clean and nice. Almost immediately after Patrick started my massage I stopped chatting. I wouldn't have been able to form words because it was that good. It was heavenly bliss. Every once in a while he would ask if the pressure was good which is perfect for me since I'm usually too shy to just tell the massage therapist if its too hard or too soft. Overall, yes the space is small and definitely a remodeled block of hotel rooms, but the treatments are too good for it to really matter. Make sure you try a scrub too. They're amazing here! more

The WORST Massage ever!! 8/2/2010

Beware of this place!! I thought I'd save a few bucks and was dissapointed! We did a couples massage and paid 235 bucks for a couples bath and massage...my bathroom at home is nicer than the one they offered, it look slike it was built late 90's, the water was scorching hot! They give you 20 minutes in the bathroom, I spend 7 minutes putting cold water in it! The presentation of the towels available made me feel like my 5 yr old son rolled them. The lady elbowed into my husbands back while my massuese was digging his nails down my spine and pinching my skin! I've had plenty of massages and realize some are very different in their technique, but this place should be checked for licensing! To top it off, when i called merely for a couples massage they added the bath to my itinerary and i found out later it was optional not part of the package!! GRRR more

Clean affordable and great massage 1/26/2010

Recently I had a massage at Hands On Massage, upon arriving the staff greeted me and my therapist introduced herself. I looked around at the converted space and realized that it is small but clean. Everyone was really nice and my massage was great. I did realize they specialize in "focused" treatments, meaning you are there for your service and finding relaxation has to come from within. There are no extra amenities but the staff did a wonderful job in the space they are provided. Very professional and knowledgable. I will definately return because the price is also very affordable. I had a great massage and recommend this place to anyone who isn't to stuck up to relax. Pros: Clean and professional Cons: Not a full service spa more

WON-DER-FUL!!! 1/26/2010

As a mother and busy woman I look forward to my time of relaxation. A friend of mine suggested this place. Hands On Massage so I figured I would give it a try. The prices are reasonable and the man who answered my call was very friendly and helpful, he even told me about their specials which I decided to get in addition to my facial. First off the facial was fabulous!! Tasha was my aesthetician and she is very friendly and sweet. It was not hard to relax at all once she started my facial. She explained everything she was doing during the facial and was very professional and calming (very important). She even did a mini massage around my face and neck area...wow! The products they use are great and after a little research I have found that they are a very well known product around the world. I did purchase a couple things, but now realize I need more, my skin is looking good!! After my facial I had a body treatment, the one the reception guy told me about. It was a chocolate wrap. I was nervous and did not know what to expect since I never had one before, but Amy made me feel so relaxed and pampered I was thoroughly impressed, not to mention the smell of the chocolate was wonderful. I truly felt like a giant candy bar! My skin has never felt so good. I would recommend these treatments to everyone and I have found my new place to have quiet time and relax when I want to treat myself. Thank you to the Hands On staff for a job well done. Pros: Treatments, price, staff Cons: wish I could stay all day more

Nothing special 1/4/2010

I've been there once and the massage was good. The waiting room is very small and can be overcrowded. I watched a massage therapist and the woman in charge of the office have a *discussion* over something not being booked right for stones and it taking an hour to heat up. Didn't need to see that. Also had the massage therapist there offer me massages at her house because I was a local. Told me it would be cheaper. While I don't mind getting stuff cheaper, it was a unprofessional attitude. I did appreciate them informing me about drinking a lot of water after my first massage. Apparently not everyone knows of this. I don't intend on going back. Pros: room was relaxing Cons: small waiting room more

Awesome! 12/10/2009

I had read the the reviews (both good and bad) and was in town for the Marathon, so I thought I'd give them a shot. Plus, I wasn't really up for paying the top $$$ most other hotel/casino spas charge. I just needed post-race rub down, but what I experienced was nothing less than AWESOME! The room and atmosphere was nice, quiet and tranquille.... Much like any other spa I'd experienced, despite being located in a remodeled hotel room. Stacy was incredible! She really worked me over - in the best way possible! I was having knee issues after my race and she really helped with the recovery. If you're looking for the full "spa" experience (lots of space, tubs, showers, etc), this may not be the place, but if you want a GREAT professional massage, at a reasonable price, this is definitely the place!! Pros: Best Sports Massage more

THE WORST EVER 12/2/2009

First let me say that this is not a spa, it is a hotel room in a third tier resort located WAY south of the strip. When you get there the waiting area is filled with a collection of junk put together by a person who is either blind or has no taste. When I did get into the "room" for my massage, it was very hard to relax due to all the noise coming from outside. This is not something they can control at the "spa" but that's not really my problem is it. The "whirlpool" is a bathtub located in a cramped hotel bathroom two feet from the toilet, so I would advise you to skip it and save the money since you could take one at home for free. The staff is nice, and its not their fault that the facilities are of such low quality, that is the fault of the owner. He is nice too, but I still would suggest spending like $20 more and going to a real spa like Canyon Ranch where you truly are pampered and don't feel like you wasted money. That being said, if you have never been to a real spa then this is fine. I would only suggest that you don't ever go to a real one after you go here or you will feel ripped off and NEVER want to go back. Pros: Nice staff Cons: Poor environment more

I felt like a princess 10/23/2009

I had a half day of services, including massage, facial, etc. The service was impeccable, friendly, and professional. I chose this spa because it was very close to where I was staying and they accepted SpaFinder gift certificates. I was surprised when I arrived to find that the spa building was undergoing renovation and the spa had temporarily moved to one of the suites in the timeshare. It was a little wierd to have all the services within a 2-bedroom suite, but it they had relly done a great job with the atmosphere. One more selling point: I was the only one receiving services at the time. Talk about a ghighly attentive (yet not too overbearing)staff! It was a fabulous day for me! more

AWESOME! 8/3/2009

My sister and I recently stayed at the Cancun Resort. We booked a warm stone massage (for the first time ever) and let me tell you - we both think it was awesome! Sure, the spa might be very small and not as fancy as some of the others out there - but Cozy and Crystal gave us the full hour (not the typical 50 minutes that other places do) and made us both feel like we were the only people on earth who mattered. When you go to relax at the spa, that's the way it should be! We were very happy to have found them! Pros: Full hour Warm Stone Massage! more

One of the Best 7/13/2009

I had a wonderful 90 minute massage today! The massage therapist was extremely professional, and did wonders for my back! Great place, nice atmosphere inside Can Cun Resort. I recommend to all. more

Awesome and PRIVATE 6/3/2009

Compared to the big factory-like Strip resort Spas where you almost feel like a number, you are warmlyh greeted, people know and care that you are visiting, and you are never without access to the immediate attentions of the staff. The massage was long and thorough and the facial, my first, was still an amazing experience. I went back the next time I came to Las Vegas and they were so welcoming and pleasant. Just a few minutes directly south (on the Strip) from the MGM Grand, it was definitely a great adventure each time! more

Didn't enjoy 2/24/2009

Not the best or nicest place in the world to get a massage. It's a two bedroom hotel room. In each of the "hotel" rooms there are massage bed's where you get your massage. If you want to use the jacuzzi or anything it's in a regular bathroom, the same bathroom someone who's staying at the hotel would be provided. My thing is if I'm going to pay $80-$100 for a massage, I might as well pay more for something that is actually comfortable. This place is a hotel room, very cramped, and not relaxing by any means. The massage is hard to enjoy because the environment is horrible. I have nothing against the staff they are very nice, but when I booked this massage, I didn't think I'd be getting it in a small two bedroom hotel room. I'd recommend anyone who wants a relaxing environment to try elsewhere even if it costs more, but if you just need the bare minimums, go here its cheap, just don't expect to be relaxed or comfortable. Pros: Nice staff Cons: Everything besides the staff more

small space but who cares 9/9/2008

I like that they don't need all the fancy stuff like jacuzzis and steam rooms to make you melt into the table. Their massages take you away from it all! And I have never been told the importance of drinking water after every massage. I come to Las Vegas a few times a year and will love coming to their spa again to try the facials! more

FANTASTIC AND GREAT PRICE! 7/31/2008

I first experienced Hands On Massage & Spa in March 2008 on the recommendation of my sister who had been there in January 2008 and it was so terrific we are going back again next week! I have frequent massages and facials in my own hometown and when I travel and the service, attention to detail, and cleanliness was the best I have encountered. Ask for Sandy for facials - fantastic. Office staff is highly customer-friendly and they go above and beyond to make sure we are taken care of - especially when making reservations from Texas! The setting is luscious and quiet. Can't wait to return next week and recommend highly! Pros: Excellent! Quiet, Professional, Friendly, Clean more

best locals day spa 4/28/2008

Locals, we have found the place to be for massages and facials! I recommend the Anti-Stress treatment and the Timexpert Anti-wrinkle facial! I felt like a whole new woman! I loved that the spa is small and I was treated like a woman who wanted to be pampered for her birthday. From the website, to the phone call to book the appointment, to meeting everyone in person, I was treated like royalty. I also liked that they offer internet specials on their website that you can not get anywhere else in Las Vegas! I will be back soon to try the coffee treatment next! Pros: friendly staff and knowledgeable therapists and estheticians Cons: not enough rooms, no sauna or steam rooms more

Best Deal on Las Vegas Blvd. 3/12/2008

I found Hands On Massage by seaching for massage in Las Vegas on Google and their citysearch reviews came up. I read through the reviews and looked at the website and chose to call for myself. I spoke with Gina and she was very helpful answering my questions about massages and facials. Since my family was staying down the street at another timeshare, we wanted to see what Cancun Resort had to offer since we can trade points to stay there on our next trip to Las Vegas. The resort is just relaxing. We loved the pool area. The Hands On website had a picture of it on their site. Even prettier in person. We were not surprised that they had a small spa due to the comments on city search. We booked 5 massages and 3 of us also had facials. We were really happy with our massages and facials. I did not find any thing negative with our experience and we plan on staying at Cacun Resort in June when we come back to Las Vegas for our summer visit. I do recommend booking in advance to get the time you are looking for due to them being a smaller facility. They only have the basic ammenities such as massage, facials and body treatments. There is no steam room or locker/changing rooms. This did not matter to us, again we loved our treatments and wanted to pass on some details to help others with their decision to go to Hands On Massage. Their prices are great and they give great massages and facials. My husband and I really enjoyed our couples massage. See you in June! I will bring in a copy of my review for my discount Gina. Thank you for letting me know. Thank you Sandy, Ben, Beth, Terry, Guiselle and Luc, you guys were great! Judy Thompson Pros: beautiful resort, small and more focused on you as the client, easy to find, clean, professional, highly skilled Cons: no steam room, dry sauna more

Wonderful Valentine Day Week Experience 2/17/2008

My name is Sandy and I surprised my husband for Valentine's Day and took him to Hands On Massage & Spa as a nice treat for us both since we work all the time and do not take time to relax and pamper ourselves. I booked our appointments with Gina and she was very helpful with her suggestions. I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage and then went into my Time Expert Facial, it is a wonderful anti-aging facial for women who need tightning and have lines in their face, I could not believe the difference in one treatment. I had my husband do his facial first and he had the Gentleman's Facail with Sandy, he loved it. Guys, you need to do this for your skin. I keep telling my husband, you need to use product on your face or I will be looking 45 when I am 60 and he will look 75 when he is 60. So listen to a women, get on some product, Hands On has great homecare product, I bought some for my husband and he is using it, or else. He had a 90 minute deep tissue massage as well. I also chose to upgrade our package and get the relaxation and roses as well. I wanted more than an hour of time so Gina was so great to fix it so we could get it all. The Chocolate covered Strawberries were to die for.. oh they were good and the roses were a beautiful touch to give us the sense of relaxation and a lovely day together. We will be back and I am definately getting on the series of the time expert facial treatments for my face. They also have one that is called the "Lift" just like the word, it lifts your face. Can't explain it but I took some samples and I did see and feel a difference in the skin with just using the sample pack at home. I read over the reviews before posting mine and read the review that the gentleman wrote about his review this week. You as readers need to realize, some people have expectations that are way to high. Wether it be the Four Seasons or a massage school, it is about the experience. My experience was wonderful. John needs to go to Four Seasons & pay more. Pros: smaller spa and we felt like the focus was on us, not 20 to 40 guests at the same time. Great customer service and very polite and professional. Loved it! Cons: it is in a temporary location but it did not bother us, like I said, it is the experience not the size of the spa. If you want a jacuzzi and robe service, go spend twice as much at a big spa. more

Excellent services! 1/30/2008

This was a great experience for me. I was visiting town and wanted a professional spa without the cost of going onto the strip. Cindy was wonderful. She gave me a 90 minute massage that was very relaxing and helpful. She was able to identify my trouble spots and worked on them. I felt wonderful when finished! I also had a 75 minute facial. Tina did a great job and was very fun. I did not see the signs for the spa but asked at the registration desk. The man gave me directions and I found the spa without any trouble. The spa is on the smaller side but that makes it just that much more relaxing. I will be back in a couple months with a friend and we will absolutely book services here again. OOOH, I was early for my appointment and they took me right in! I was not made to wait like at other establishments! Pros: Professional services, friendly staff, QUIET!!!! more

best value in town! 11/26/2007

I frequently visit Vegas and have tried several other spas and spent alot of money as well, but I have to say that this little place was warm, inviting and the best value by far! I thoroughly enjoyed my massage and Gentleman's facial. The staff was friendly and paid attention to my needs, thanks Lani and Sandy! I will definitely come back in a couple of months! more

Gift of Relaxation for the Holidays 11/26/2007

My name is Jennifer and my daughter had bought me a gift certificate from Hands On Massage for Mother's Day this year. I went in and had a wonderful massage from Beth and an anit-aging facial from Sandy. The spa is small and more one-on-one, however, the people working there were extremely nice and helpful. I have had many massages and facials here in Las Vegas since i have lived here for over 40 years. I do not care for the big spas in Las Vegas know. They have become very corporate and over done. They lack the customer service that I am use to from the old Desert Inn Spa. The larger spas could learn a thing or two about being the biggest and best is not always what bring people back. They are pricing themselves right out of business. I can get a massage and facial at Hands On almost for the same amount a 50 minute massage would cost me at Canyon Ranch or Bellagio. The facial line that Hands On uses is the best in town. I highly recommend this for anyone with aging or skin issues of any kind, they have it all. I will be purchasing gift certificates for my friends and loved ones this year from Hands On. I had a wonderful experience and know you will as well. Thank you Sandy and Beth for making me feel so comfortable and at home. Pros: great pices, friendly staff, easy to find, right on Las Vegas Blvd inside the Cancun Resort more
