I have one word - Shanna! She has a natural talent for cut, color, and style. She has an uncanning ability of being able to know what will work for your hair, face shape, and personal style. Her personality is alway's upbeat, friendly, and she never makes me feel rushed out the door. She is like a doctor of hair, with perfect bedside manner. Shanna cuts my children's hair as-well, and has a nack for keeping them happy. They are teenage girls, and they are impossible to please. They refuse to let anyone else touch their precious hair. Honestly, she is the best hairdresser I have ever had!! I would be willing to place a wadger that Shanna is the most knowledgeable stylist I have encountered. Go see her, you won't be disappointed; you'll leave her salon, feeling and looking like a million bucks. I guarantee it! more

Normally I go to Dupre's, however, they were all booked on the Saturday I had free to have my hair re-colored and cut so I called ""Hair We Are"". Upon my arrival I was greeted with friendly faces and was asked if I'd like anything to drink. Check in was simple. My stylist (Lilian) was extremely outgoing and a pleasure to have. I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome of my hair and the relaxed, but family friendly atmosphere. Customers were coming in with their children of all ages, customers of all backgrounds even. I was very pleased seeing as normally I felt I had to be ""dressed to impress"" each time I went to Dupres. It felt like a down home, good, relaxing, come as you are, place. more

I had a great time. Megan was wonderful, funny, and bubbly. Great haircut and great company. The stylists have wonderful chemistry together and that makes the atmosphere fun and light. Very professional and reasonably priced. My new salon for ever. more

Being in the military and moving around all the time is hard when you need to find a great stylist. I feel that everyone should be able to trust their stylist as I can mine, Shanna!! She is awesome. I went in there knowing what I wanted and I was extremely happy with how I looked when I walked out. I have not and will not go anywhere else except to Shanna. I met shanna awhile back had my hair hi lighted and cut. I was nervous due to going to so many other salons and NEVER getting what i wanted.... Well Shanna was AWESOME!! She made me feel relaxed and was very friendly. My hair was so BEAUTIFUL that on my way home i could not stop looking at my hair!!! I have been going to Shanna every since!! I have been stationed here for about 7-8 years and have never had my hair done in the beach. Due to the LACK of experiance and knowledge on hair here. So I found, throught searching on the net, Hair We Are. I was very scared going in there knowing I was going to ""chop"" my hair. I was able to make an apointment online with the owner Jane. By the time I got there and sat down she was AMAZING. Knew exactly what I wanted with little talking and did an amazing job! Took her time and was comforting to my BIG change. I found a GREAT hair stylist here in the beach and I couldnt be happier with the results! Make you apointments TODAY!!!! Great location and GREAT STAFF!!!!! Oh and adorable place :) more

I recently moved here from Texas and so I was stressed as to what salon to go to. I saw this place online and read the great reviews and decided to try this place out. I'm so glad I did! Tammy did my hair and did an excellent job! I came in with really long hair and wanted something shorter. She did a great shoulder length bob with highlights and I got my eyebrows waxed. All of this came to around $110 which is pretty good compared to what you will pay elsewhere. You have to try this place!!!! more

This place is not good. Shanna cut my hair way to short and not in the style I wanted and then took a hugh chunk of my skin off while waxing my eyebrows!!! And of course, I was charged full price....talk about bad service. But she offered to cut my hair for free after it grew back out. YEAH RIGHT!!!! NO THANKS!!!! Save you money and skin...go somewhere else. more

I live in Norfolk, and I used to go to a salon in Norfolk but it was way to pricey. I began to look on line and came across Hair We Are, and I am so glad I did! I highly recommend Jane (the owner) she is great and does a fantastic job!! She really took the time to explain things, and gave some really good tips on what she thought would look best. The prices are affordable also, which is always a plus! more

I chose this salon after reading the reviews and looking at their website. The website was easy to navigate and I really enjoyed reading each stylists biography. I was looking for a salon where I could feel comfortable. I was referred to Michael for a consultation.......he was fantastic..........I treated myself to a deep conditioning treatment and my hair feels great. Their prices seem to be within reason which is really nice too! Michael was understanding and reassured me that he would take care of my hair concerns. I'm so very happy I gave HAIR WE ARE a try!!! I'm looking forward to another deep conditioning and a trim in December. Thanks Michael! more

I was getting ready to leave for vacation early in the morning and it was 7:30 on a Friday night. I had to get my eyebrows waxed, immediatly. I called and they were closed, I said ok, thanks. The woman (Jane) then asked how far i was, I told her where I was and she said come on over. I was so happy and appreciative. When I got there they were waiting for me. They did not rush and really took their time. The stylist (it wont let me put her name) did an amazing job. I had been waiting to get mine waxed because they had been messed up so badly the last time. She did the best job I had ever had!! My mom and best friend had their haircut there recently and both look amazing. Just a wonderful salon, with wondrful stylist, and they really do care and want to give you what you want. I would suggest everyone give them a try. I am next time I get my hair cut, I am waiting so I can donate to Locks of Love which they participate in also. They will send you hair in for you!! Again, Check this salon out, any of the stylists are great!!!! Wish I would of found them earlier. The prices are great too. Only $30. for a shampoo, cut and style. I usually pay alot more and they have kept to their word when my family and friends have been there. The waxing and other services are reasonably priced. That is just another plus!! I was in Virginia beach visiting my best friend and we decided to get a haircut and color. I saw Nate and he is a color EXPERT. He was amazing and listened to me and did everything I wanted. It has been almost two and a half months and people are still asking me if I just got my hair highlighted because it still looks great. Everyone was super knowledgeable there, and the best part was that they actually try to save you money. I wish I had a hair we are where I am from! Don't do what I did... I strayed. After seeing Jessica faithfully for over 4 years, I followed my friend and went to a different stylist for ""something new"". What I ended up with was a haircut that I could not grow out gracefully, with over-processed, frizzy hair that took forever to fix in the mornings and a whole lot of frustration. I no longer received the compliments from strangers of ""I love your hair!"". Instead, I heard from my husband, ""Um... Your hair is kind of big on the top and sticking out in the back. You really need to fix it"". Not a great thing to hear. So, needless to say, I called Jessica who came to the rescue. She really had to rescue my hair by cutting off all of the dead, over-processed ends. I had to sacrifice some of the length to make up for the ""chop job"" done on the back of my head, but it is so worth it. I love my hair and color again!!!! I learned my lesson the hard way. I now am faithfully back in her very talented hands and have again the ""do"" that looks good, feels good and my husband LOVES it. Phew. I will never stray again. I'm a loyal client to Hair We Are for over 5 years. They all are so friendly and personable. They always consult with me ,ask what I ""m looking for today and listen to what I want . They recommend changes when I need them, un like my other salon. I got so board they didn't even ask me just kept doing the same old thing, and the prices kept going up but service was going down. Thats why I am a loyal client. They treat me and my family like part of their family, not just a number. They make sure you know they appreciate you business. I always leave there feeling like a million bucks. I recommended them to a niece of mine who needed her entire wedding party done including the guys, the day ran just like clock work, I knew that the hair was'nt something my neice would'n need to stress over. My girlfriend had to get her hair done. We were on our way to the Military Ball. Thank goodness they knew how to do a fade! I would have been SOL. I waited until the last minute to mine cut. so itworked out perect. The cut was great. The best part was the shampoo. Thanks ladies...and nate. more

I was in the mall trying to get it cut. people were rude and it was taking FOREVER. So as we left we saw a cute little shop by the jumping monkey. Stopped in just to see if there was any way I could get my hair done(mind you my son was getting married soon and my stylist ditched me). They were so nice and understanding. They took me in..cut and colored my hair. I also got a fab wax job on my eye brows. I even sprang for an extra $20 for a spray tan. I look and feel great.....thanks Jen! I really like it there. I took my daughter right before school started. It was like mom and daughter day. The people who work there are nice and really listen to you. I didn't feel pressured or tricked into getting something I didn't want. My hair turned out fabulous. New cut and high lights...and it didn't cost me a bunch of money. My daughter was really happy with her new high school do! We will be going back... Pros: perfect for my budget more
