They don't know how to properly install their own product. 7/28/2020

Don't deal with these people. In 2016 I contracted to have my gutters replaced. There was nothing really wrong with the existing gutters, I just wanted the leaf guards. When the gutters were installed the eaves were in excellent condition. The fascia and soffits were all of sound wood with no damages. In October 2019 during a home inspection on an unrelated matter, the inspector found damage to my eaves over the garage. I had a couple roofing contractors come out to look at it and they said that the damage was probably due to the gutters. GutterShutter sent someone out to look at it in December. They said the roof damage had nothing to do with the gutters. Now it is three-some years later since the initial installation and not coincidentally the gutters’ poor design and installation have caused damage to the eaves all around my house. I had several roofing companies come out and they were unequivocal that the damage to fascia and soffits is because the gutters are not draining the water away properly. In some places, the drip edge was forced under my shingles and the shingles were forced up and not able to drain water from the roof properly In other places it is clear the drip was not properly installed and ice dams were not installed. Mine was a high quality roof and not very old. Perhaps the installers didn’t fully understand, being gutter people and not roofing people, how their installation affected the roof. Since December 2019 the damage all around the house is more obvious, a good deal more extensive and certain to become much worse. The roofing companies I have had out for quotes are unanimous and unequivocal that the gutter installation damaged the roof and caused the eaves to rot. I sent the company a registered letter May 18th, 2020 further explaining the situation and inviting them to participate in remediation and repair. They didn’t respond at all. From other complaints about the same damage and the non-response, they do business this way. They'll cost you thousands if you buy from them. more

Worst Company Ever?? 4/14/2019

This Company is a complete JOKE! We were promised they would come out and clean them if they ever needed it. I have called a dozen or more times and they sent someone out twice. Once they replaced a piece in the corner and the other time they told me they could not honor their warranty because the corner had been messed with. I just cleaned a 5 foot section out and removed a basketball sized or better pile of debris. Constantly overflowing in this corner. Safe to say these things do NOT keep junk out, you will still have to clean, corners for sure, and the company does NOTHING to honor their warranty. Worst purchase ever--and I bought an exercise bike! Would love to post photos. Save your money PLEASE. The only thing good about this company is the caulk they use to seal. that stuff is hard to get off- almost as hard as getting these clowns to honor their work. Amazed they are still in business. more

They couldn't put the new ones up in the rain. I get it but they should not have removed ours, we had no problems with our gutters,and now we had water gushing into our basement. more

Don’t waste your money 1/13/2019

I really liked all that was promised about these gutters. It seemed too good to be true, and it was. I should have had a clue when the sales guy said his negotiated price was only good right then & there. I asked if we could think about it overnight & get back to him the next day - nope, deal only good for right then. Somehow we signed anyway and had a horrible experience with them taking our money October 2017, giving us a November 2017 install date & not getting installed till February 2018 after many missed install dates with me inquiring why no one showed or called on our missed dates. 1st after install rain went between the house & the gutters. We were blamed for that even though they were the ones who removed our old gutters & drip edge that worked with those gutters. They did install a rubber drip edge that comes in what looks like 10’ pieces in a few spots. Since the topper for the gutter angles back towards the house that only made the leakes appear in other places between the house & gutter. They did come back and install drip edge pieces along the whole thing. I could have lived with all that. The real failure of these gutters are the topper. Anything but a light rain goes shooting over the top of the unit & it’s like having no gutter at all for most rains. The other horrible feature is for any temperatures below zero. Instead of snow melting from the roof & going into the gutter, the metal topper re-freezes the water and creates huge icicles along the whole front of the gutter. This creates a horrible, unsafe mess on our sidewalk. Gutter Shutter is aware of this dangerous problem & told us that was in the fine print we failed to see on the contract. Only buy these if you live where it’s always above freezing temps and if you only get light rain. Otherwise, these gutters will not work for you. Now that we have given them a try for 11 months I will be calling someone else to see if the top can be removed & make usable or if we just need to replace. more

Avoid these Cons 3/21/2018

These people are thieves. I paid $2250, which was half of the full amount. They didn't come to install two months later. Now I am having financial problems and they refuse to return my deposit. They are stating that I only had 3 days to cancel. They are trying to force me to complete the contract when I don't have the money. more

Customer support? Not on rainy weekends! 2/26/2018

On the wettest day of the year, the newly-installed gutter pulled away from the house! When I called the service number, it went to voice mail. I went to the Cincinnati Home and Garden Show, which happened to be the same weekend, and spoke directly to the sales person who put me in touch with the CEO, Shannon Turner. She simply did not care that the problem had occurred, told me she would have someone "look into it" on Monday, two rainy days later. On Monday, I was called by Jim, the service manager. (I had had one earlier problem with the installation and it took 4-5 calls to voicemail before I reached an office staffer who told me he was in the office and available...apparently just not responding to calls.) Jim did assure me that a guy would come out and look at my problem. However, he simply does not care that the the problem occurred at all and has no interest in improving customer support. I recommend you look for another product. This one is a costly, frustrating headache. more

Good luck ever getting a reponse 11/16/2014

I had a Gutter Shutter system installed 3/2011. We live in Huntington, Long Island, New York and the installer John Armstrong out of Long Beach Long Island did the install. It was sloppy and the workers left nails and debris all over the place. I had to do my own clean up so as not to injure my family. He had promised to come back for tweaks to a couple of areas. ie where a ground pipe needed to transition into an existing drain hole. ( he never returned to finish this, no wonder since I paid him in full ) First MISTAKE do not pay until satisfied. We had a horrible winter here 2014 and due to high winds the traps which hang to catch debris inside the drain went missing. I have EXHAUSTED myself trying to find where to get these. DO NOT EXPECT help from the main offices. I can't even find where I could purchase the hanging basket traps. I now have DUCT tape to cover the holes. RUN,RUN,RUN away from this company and product. I would give 0 star or -0 if this was possible more
