groves market not only has the best cold sandwichs but while you are there if you are a hot sauce lover like me and you like it hottttt......check out the selection of really hot ,Hot sauce the have every kind that you will ever need some of it even scares me , even if you dont like hot .Hot sauce it make the wait in line more bearable to see all the brands and types the have.... more

Best I Know of in Utah 10/16/2009

My Dad has been taking groves to his clients officies at least once a year. It is the best lunch he can think of. One sandwich will feed 3 ""normal"" adults or 2 big eaters. They have the deli pickles, fresh tomatoes, and really pile on the meat like NO other place I've ever been to. I don't know how my dad found the place, as it is in a quiet part of town. He's gone now so I can't ask him, but we still travel 30 miles every now and then for the best sandwich ever. Pros: Freshest, huge, great VALUE more

This is amazing! my friend was completely on the dollars as he told me to try this place. I never would have found Grove's in this town...it is hidden. It really is a lot of fun. The staff has a lot of charachter and they make some amazing collosal sandwhiches here. I will be back. Pros: Amazing Sandwich Cons: Too big and the meat could be better. more

Biggest, best sandwich in SLC - too big 6/21/2009

Don't be fooled by the location. In the back of this little deli/market is a unique sandwich shop. Food is great, fast service. A few picnic tables in front of the store to consume your food. Give it a try Pros: Great sandwich, VERY LARGE Cons: Sandwich is too large. I wish they sold a half. more

HUGE SANDWICHES!!!!! 5/7/2009

oh man, the first time I went there, i kinda laughed. I didn't think that the sandwiches would be all that great, but I decided to check it out anyway since all i've heard was great things. I bought the Deluxe. All I can really say is for about 9 bucks I fed me, my dad and my 23 yr old brother. One sandwich can seriously feed 3 grown adults!!! I live in Sandy, and I will drive all the way down town just to get my hands on one of those delicious sandwiches!!! Yeah, they really are that good!! They always use fresh ingredients. And when I say fresh, i mean it taste like the tomato was grown in the back yard. If you've ever had fresh tomato vs the grocery store tomato, then you know exactly what I am talking about..... Yummy!!! Pros: fresh, yummy sandwiches Cons: sometimes too big and sometimes crowded more

Absolutely WONDERFUL 10/13/2008

This is the best Deli EVER! I recommend this place to all my friends and family and basically anyone I know who lives in Utah. It's well worth the drive. The Sandwhiches are made with care and love. The hot sauce aisle is AWESOME. And the customer service is the best I've ever encountered. You are treated like Gold when you come to Groves. Pros: Customer Service, quality food, local atmosphere Cons: NONE!!!! more

Worth a 1500 mile drive for the sandwich, the visit and a bag of chips! 6/20/2008

Most Mothers worry about what their kids eat, but when my family and I come up to visit from Texas, my mother makes a run to Groves to buy the biggest and best spread of sandwiches and salads in the state of Utah. Jim and his crew have always done it right. The Deluxe, the BLT, and even my favorite the most tasty Crab and Avocado are just a few of our families favorites. Mountains of Turkey, Ham, Pastrami, crisp lettuce with a nice side of their Pasta salad, there is very little that can go wrong when you get lunch there. Pros: Just what did I miss? Cons: Not much parking space, but then again it keeps traffic in and out to a nice level. more

A local treasure!! 6/3/2008

Grove Market is a small locally owned shop that is an absolute treasure for Salt Lake City! They have a deli in the back that makes the most incredible sandwiches that have to be seen to believe. I'm eating one right now so it's hard to type. Although they're just a small shop, they have a whole isle of specialty exotic hot sauces. They have stuff there that you can't find anywhere else. Jim, the owner is a wonderful person. If we ever loose this place, I'll have to move. These kinds of local small businesses are being driven out by big national chains. It's local shops like this that give a town it's culture. Love them!! more

I do not know who answers the phones there ( a woman) but she is by far the rudest person I have encountered in a long while. On a positive note Jim is one of the nicest people out there...the world needs more of him! more

Poor customer service, & orders wrong!! 6/28/2007

We have enjoyed Groves market for many years, but the last few times we have been disappointed. We ordered 9 sandwiches and when we got the order home it was wrong. We asked for no condiments as the sandwiches sometimes get soggy on the bottoms, but they put on the mayo and mustard anyway, plus we had a friend who is allergic to mustard and was unable to eat. When I called and confronted the owner Jim with this problem he said he would give us our money back, but when I came into the store he ignored me repeatedly and helped others before me and, then proceeded to yell at me and ask me if I thought he was crazy, when I reminded him he said he would refund our money. He shook his finger in my face and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Of the $71.19 we spent on a wrong order, he thrust a $20 bill at me without looking at me. I guess this is the way he treats customers who have a problem with their orders being wrong. Cons: Will not take responsibility for mistakes THEY make. more

Biggest and Best I Have ever had 4/23/2007

I would love to thank the people at grove deli for being there.We order 1 of there monster sandwiches and 4 of us eat on it. It is not only fab tasteing but there so big it cost us each $2.00 to have a great lunch and we are so full.So THANK YOU GROVE MARKET & DELI for doing what you do.I have a question for the owner's how do you make any money selling these for such a low price? I am not complaining mind you but its fantastic.I hope your alway's there I will be.I have eaten at Caputo's and all the deil's and I must say you are the best of any and thank's again. your very satisfiedcustomer Pros: everything Cons: There just aren't any more

Best Sandwich ANYWHERE 4/7/2007

I would have everyone eat at Grove's Deli. They serve the freshest and biggest sandwich you have ever seen.The place is so clean I would eat off the floor.The parking is good because there's another secret alot of people havent discovered yet, the parking lot just south of the store can be used to.I could not believe the price when I got my sandwich,chips & drink's ,it cost me more to by a stinking hamburger And 1 sandwich feed's at least 4 of us.We love grove and hope they are there for another 60 years.Service is FANTASTIC. And the owners wife is a kick she,s funny. Pros: Greatest Sandwich Nation Wide Bar None more

Wow, I've been to most local deli's around town and the don't come close to comparing to Grove's sandwiches! One of these can feed 3 easy! It's a great local setting in downtown Salt Lake, patio seating for outside seating. Grove Market is Salt Lake's best kept secret, they've been on that same street corner for 60 years almost and still offer one of the best dining experiences around! Nothing compares to Grove Market!! Best sandwich in S.L.C. 11/23/2004

HUGE, gigantic, monsterous sandwiches, will easily feed two persons. Gandolfo's has variety, but the Grove has quantity and lots of it. This is a neighborhood thing. 'Must try it to believe it. The meatball sandwich is the thing here. There's about TWO DOZEN small meatballs in this sandwich. Moochie's has ONE large meatball, sliced in half. You do the math.
