WILL NOT be insulted again! 1/19/2011

Don't go there with a large party after having made a reservation. You'll arrive with 27 people and they won't have your reservation. Then the banquet coordinator/manager wench-bag will be very rude to you and argue that you never made a reservation and that everything you were told on the phone when you did make the reservation would never have been said. OH.. and that they don't make mistakes like losing a reservation. So you tell them that obviously a mistake has been made... but the insolent hag insists that the mistake wasn't on their part. Meanwhile you're standing there with your 27 guests but she's too busy humiliating you and trying to make you look as if you're an idiot in front of your guests and everyone else who had crowded in for their parties, instead of bending over backwards to accomodate you after having lost your 27 people reservation. Not an apology, not a kind word, not even a free appetizer. The food is expensive and not worth the wait. They don't even serve a sal more

Great spot 3/4/2010

We went to Fiorillo's for the first time and were very impressed. The food was great, the service was fabulous and the wait staff are just attentive enough but not pushy. more

Fiorillo's Restaurant (Santa Clara) 3/3/2010

Great food, they have the best Petrale Sole I have ever had. Excellent service, wait staff is friendly and highly attentive. more

Great Party! 8/16/2009

We recently had a big party at Fiorillos. Initially, those of us who planned the party were really impressed with the service and the food. But now we are getting tons of "what a great party" & "the food was excellent" comments from our guests. This kind of feedback makes us feel like we made the best possible choice for our celebration. Thank you for everything! more

I now want to be ITALIAN- -I LOVE THIS PLACE 4/6/2007

First off, I want to say that living in the bay area my entire life I never knew this place existed until a friend of mine took me there one Friday night six years ago and well, I have been going there once a week (if not more) ever since! i have had several milestone parties there and its just been a great remembrance. Pros: Parking, Location is Great, Quality and Respect Cons: Friday and Saturday get busy so make a reservation more

Easily the Worst Service in the South Bay?Be warned! 2/19/2007

My friends and I are avid diners, and the three of us dined at Fiorillo's on Friday night. The Cesar salad was wilted and bland, but did have actual anchovies on top. The onion soup was tasteless and cold (beef stock, onions, bread and cheese - how could they mess this up?). Even though the Chicken Saltimboca was overcooked and cold, it was the best dish that night. Unfortunately, the service was the ABSOLUTE worst we'd ever experienced in the South Bay. Yes, the place was busy, but there was no reason for the non-existant service at such an "established" restaurant. We didn't get drinks or bread for about 20 minutes after being seated. After 40 minutes we finally received our food - all at once, soups, salads, appetizers and entrees. We didn't see the waitress again. No drink refills, no wine, nothing. When we finally did get the waitress' attention, we asked for various things (bread, a knife, a glass of wine). We got none of it. Seriously. Finally fed up with this ridiculous service, we asked for the bill - which took 14 minutes to receive even though 1/2 of the restaurant was empty by then! I'm not sure who is running this place, but they certainly don't want repeat customers. Our $110 meal was a complete waste of time and effort. We hope the $1 tip we left was a message to the staff. I would avoid this place. You'll likely get a better meal and much better service at Olive Garden, McDonalds, or the taco truck down the street. Pros: Endless ice tea (if you can get it), fresh-baked poppyseed bread (if you can get it) Cons: Unusually bad service, noisy, not good food for the price, mediocre wine list more

Rude and inconsiderate wait staff and a very crappy atttitude from the owner 7/17/2006

First of all the food was great and well worth the cost if you can get past the extremely rude, impatient and uncaring wait staff and owner. We had a waitress who wouldn't stop long enough to hear our requests, then after dinner we had to practically argue with her to get her to straighten the bill out. We asked her to get the manager to explain to him (mind you in a very calm and friendly tone) that his waitress was rude to us and not attentive, after trying to describe our problem he just shut us down and told us "What do you want from me? I just got done making food for a big banquet and I am tired. I don't have time to listen to this. Just forget it" (this quote was his EXACT words) and then walked away from us without letting us finish getting our point across. Again the food was great but NOT worth the hell you have to go through to get it. We will definitely be looking for more appreciative italian restaurants in the area. Pros: Good Food Cons: Horrible Wait Staff and Rude Manager/Owner more

The gelatto alone is worth the trip. 4/13/2006

I preferred Fiorillos before they moved to their present location. It had a real Italian family ambience. The new location is a bit more upscale and smaller. Service is a little slow for American tastes butif you learn to be patient and you wont be disappointed. Stick with the Italian food and you can't go wrong. A light lunch of spinach salad is great also. Pros: gellatto!!!!!, traditi Italian meals, spinach salad Cons: slowish service more

Huge Group Of Very Satisfied Patrons 9/14/2005

My friends and I have been going to Fiorillo's for years. We have never had a bad experience at this particular restaurant. The food is always excellent. The staff encourages you to notify them, if you have any issues with your meal. The owners and their family have always being extremely friendly and accomodating, to our whether it is a group of two or a group of 30 people in our party. Almost all of my friends and I celebrate every big occassion at this restaurant. When ever one of says we want to go to Fiorillo's for dinner you know you will have extra guests at your table. We all have the philosphy if you are thinking Italian it has to be Fiorillo's. We also, love the fact that we are all young and still are welcome to this restaurant and are treated with a great deal of respect. Pros: friendly staff, excellent food, prompt service Cons: bright lighting more

hit or miss 6/28/2005

I had dinner last weekend with Italian friends and the night meal started promisingly with delicious parmigiana and mixed antipasta. But, later it was bogged down with a pizza that was lacking a few of the topping ingredients that were ordered and an expanse of pizza crust that took up the majority of the pizza. .We had to request the waiter to bring us condiments and water many times, they did not seem to be thrilled by our presence. In all fairness, I have had great experiences here in the past when a different waiter was on shift. The food was not too bad, minus the pizza. PROS: convenient CONS: on and off service more

Long Time Patron 6/5/2005

Ive been a Fiorillos patron since Vince opened his doors in California. The food has always been superb, keying off his terrific tomato sauce recipe. The restaurant caters to all ages, from the pizza crowd to the Italian cuisine lovers. They are famous for their bread which is an Italian bread covered in nuts and stuff, served warm and with REAL butter. I cant get enough of it. Whenever I want to really treat friends and relatives, I take them to Fiorillos. Their pizzas are the very best and my favorite continental dish is their veal parmesan, but thats me. Pros: food quality, moderate prices, cleanliness Cons: art-deco feel, bright lighting more

Delightful dinning experience with great food! 6/3/2005

I have been dinning at Fiorillo's for many years, and it has always been a pleasant meal, and my favorite place to go. I am hooked on the pasta dishes as well as the pizza. I come from a large Family, and Fiorillo's is where everyone wants to go to celebrate Family events. The management and staff are very kind, and acomminating. They have a very extensive menu to please the whole Family. The food taste fresh just like my Grandma would cook for me when I was a little boy. The restaurant is well operated and one of the cleanest that I have ever eaten at. I can't wait for my next meal there. I love this place! Pros: Food, Quality, Quantity Cons: A little noisy more

Great Italian Food!!! 5/31/2005

OMG, this is a little gold mine. The food is so superb, I thought that I was eating at an upscale 4* restaurant at 1/4 the price! No wait, great atmosphere. Friendly staff. The owner even came and talked to us for awhile! Superb restaurant for the price! Pros: Inexpensive Italian, Plenty of parking, terrific location more

Unpleasant dining experience 5/28/2005

I went here for dinner on a Saturday night and will never go back. Most of the patrons are older senior citizens and though the parking and wait were short, the waitress got my order wrong and was rude. She tried to make me keep my mushroom pizza. After she asked if we wanted dessert she didn't wait for an answer and just left. The french onion soup was too salty, they charge 25 cents for refills on soda though you can get endless iced tea. Their "special bread" was just cut up ciabatta, served warm and drenched in oil and not very good. My pizza was decent but the service and treatment ruined my friend's dinner. Pros: Short wait, Decent food, good parking Cons: Rude staff, overpriced, unpleasant service more

User review by trickylittleb 5/27/2005

I have been here four times now, and the last time was the worst which is prompting this review. Watch out for the waitstaff if you happen to be young and in a larger group (of 7!). This restuarant is definitely frequented by an older crowd, and the waitstaff seemed to prefer it that way. We were not treated very nicely (although the food was great!). On prior occasions, when I have gone there with my parents or for Santa Clara University events, we were treated respectfully. The food is pretty good - I've tried the steaks as well as different pastas and appetizers and I've liked everything I've ordered. The atmosphere is decent, although it feels a little bit like dining in a hotel lobby. The service, however, can really ruin an otherwise nice dinner. more

unpleasant atmosphere 1/2/2005

Screaming owners and unhappy waitstaff make it quite the unpleasant dining experience; I tried going here twice, but I won't be going back. Good parking lot and no wait to sit but long wait for food; they have a large room for big parties, so maybe that could be a better experience. more
