Emmendorfer Service Station

Took my vehicle in and described the problem (car idling erratically). They suggested I "start with" a tune up (which would cost $278) to fix the problem. It didn't fix the problem. They then told me I needed a new distributor which would be over $200 for the part plus an additional $130 for labor plus the $278 that didn't fix my car. So I told them to "un-tune-up" my car and I'll take it back broken. They still charged me $19 in a part they "couldn't take back out" and $45 in labor. Don't go here. They couldn't have just checked the distributor first? Don't mechanics have diagnostic equipment to find out what exactly is wrong instead of saying "Oh, let's just start throwing parts at your car and see what fixes it."?? This is the second time in a row this has happened here. So much for giving this place another chance. more

I have been going to Emmendorfers for 10 years now. They have always been honest with me and willing to work with me. They even told me once that they didn't want me to put any more money into fixing a car, they would rather help me find a new one! I tell everyone I know that if they want honest and fast, Dewayne and the gentlemen up there are the way to go. Even if I move out of the neighborhood, I will still make the trek to get my car serviced by them! more

When my auto needed new brakes, I took it to Emmendorfers for a second opinion after going to a chain store. The estimate from Emmendorfer's was about 2/3 of the price and they guaranteed all parts for the life of the vehicle. I okayed the work and even though they had to go out to get certain parts, had my vehicle completely done within 3 hours. They gave me a written guarantee and even topped off the fluids in my vehicle as a courtesy. Great job! more
