Elephant Bar 12/23/2006

My meal at the Elephant Bar wasn't the greatest. It was very cold, and there was little heating. The waiter was nice, but was slow to get our food, which we waited about 45 minutes to get. The salad that I had, which was one of the cheaper items on the menu, was small and not as fresh as I had hoped. It was also difficult to find parking, but that's probably because we came at the prime dinner hour. more

Elephant Bar 12/18/2006

The Elephant Bar is actually a pretty cool restaurant. Its all jungle/safari themed and its just a really cool place to eat out either with your family or friends. Its called a bar but in reality its a restaurant, although they do have a bar section. What I like about them is that their prices are fair. They have a little bit of everything (and its so yummy) and you pay about $9-15 a dish. Their type of food is.....well there really isnt a central theme. They have chicken, they have stake, they have a whole lot of shrimp, they have Thai noodles....Its just hearty good food, with a lot of flavor. You definitly need to make a reservation because this place gets full. If you dont have a reservation they will give you one of those vibrating beeper things while you wait. Come try them! p,s, right now when you buy a gift certificate from them for $25, you get $5 free. I like to do this nad just spend it myself! more

Elephant Bar has the food, the ambience, the service 4/23/2006

Even people who are picky about the restaurants generally have some specific requirements that concern the quality of the food, its presentation, the interior and cleanliness of the restaurant, and the quality of service. At Elephant Bar & Restaurant it seems that they took care of everything. The menu is available online at http://www.elephantbar.com/ourmenumain.htm and from the looks of it, Elephant Bar is primarily an Asian Fusion restaurant with the desire to please a little bit of both tastes, which justifies having cheeseburgers and fish with salsa. We had to wait for about 10 minutes before getting into the place on Saturday evening, and the parking lot on Stevens Creek Boulevard was full. The drink menu is what one would expect from a restaurant that has a full bar in place, but they also serve a variety of specialty drinks mostly prefixed by the word "Jungle". The drinks are mostly in $4-7 range, with the meals ranging from $8 to $15. The menu is quite vivid and full of pictures, and the presentation of the food at Elephant Bar Restaurant is great as well - they do really make sure the food looks good before it's served. The service was bit hectic with the restaurant packed on Saturday, but nevertheless the waiters were courteous and expeditious. The place itself looks very clean, quite new, and has an African theme to it, which explains the sculptures of giraffes and large variety of plants inside. The lunch menu varies from $6 to $9 and also features some of their excellent fish dishes. more

Great ambience but less than great service 9/26/2005

I loved the elephant bar in campbell, so decided to visit their new branch closer to home in Cupertino. Elephant bar is what I would call an Asian fusion restaurant. There is also a multitude of seafood on the menu (try the calamari). However on two other occasions when I went there with a larger group (8-10), we were made to wait upwards of an hour in each case. In once scenario, we were told there werent tables avaialble for a large group even after 1 hour, so we went and joined a few smaller tables ourselves !!!! more

they dont even cook elephants here 8/12/2005

A month ago, I really wanted to go back to Elephant Bar, I'm guessing I just forgot how bad it is. The environment is really nice, outdoor eating during the day, pretty good service and an awesome looking bar which I've never been near because I'm underage. But when I looked at the menu, I remembered that they only serve like 15 things, none of which are extremely cheesy or garlicy, which disappointed me. When I did order a sandwich it definitely was not worth 12 dollars, Quizno's is definitely better. Also, it's on the corner of Portal Avenue, which is where all of Cupertino's reigstered sex offenders live. It does have a nice atmosphere, but you might want to watch out if you have any young boys in your family. more

Come hungry!!! 7/6/2005

Elephant Bar reminds me a lot of Claim Jumper in Southern California --- wide selection of food, HUGE portions, 20 minute wait to be seated. I highly recommend their coconut shrimp, and my veggie friend really liked the veggie burger with guacamole. The service is excellent considering how many people show up and how much food needs to be carted all over the place. The desserts ate spectacular, although I cannot imagine sharing them with fewer than 4 people. The drink selection is solid as well, nothing original or creative though. If you want a good meal, lots of food, with low wallet impact, this is a great place. more

Elephant Bar is so great! 6/25/2005

The elephant bar is a great place. The interior, for one, is amazing. It really makes you feel like you are in africa or some continent like that. They have great food including amazing appetizers. The service is excellent as well. the food is prepared exactly how you order it, and just how you like it. The bar is equipped with a good number of bartenders so you are hardly ever waiting for your drink. Go to Elephant Bar! more
