If Dr. Jennings had his own practice, I would be absolutely thrilled. He is one of the best dentists I've ever gone to: he's kind; takes the time to explain things; patient; apologetic if he runs a bit behind (which I don't expect, but it's nice of him to do); completely competent; and if he knows he can't do something, he's very quick to refer you to someone that can rather than attempt it himself (that says a lot about any professional, especially a doctor). So, if I were to rate just him, there would be a full 5 stars because he's outstanding.*****
As far as the women that work the front...well, when I became a new patient, they were very nice. But soon I noticed that things kept getting messed up. Appointments, work that was going to be done, etc... No one seemed to know what was going on at any time. *****
One time I had left a message on their voice mail/answering machine saying that I wouldn't be able to make it to an appointment. I received a call the day of (or after...not sure now) saying that I missed the appointment. When I called back to tell them that I left a message, the woman asked ""Did you leave a message on *our* machine?"" I was confused by this question because I'm not sure where else I would leave a message.*****
It seems as time goes on, every single appointment (not exaggerating) that I have set up becomes a problem. The frustrating part is that their incompetence somehow becomes my fault. I'm not a complainer. If you make me angry or upset, I won't tell you about it; I'll just continue on with a smile and hold it in (unhealthy, I realize). So when they mess something up or when I correct them about a procedure I'm having, they become rude and defensive and, frankly, it's very annoying and makes the entire operation look terrible. *****
When you deal with the office staff, remember not to take anything personally. That is something I have to constantly remind myself every time I'm greeted with a snippy tone. We all have our bad days - theirs' just seem to be never-ending.*****
I've been weighing the pros against the cons - Dr. Jennings is the pro and everything else is a con. In order to get to him, I have to go through them. That's a problem for me. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be continuing to go there simply because the desk staff is far too stressful to deal with. I'm a very sensitive person and when people become rude with me, I take it personally and I feel very uncomfortable dealing with them, whether it's speaking to them on the phone or in person - they will certainly let you know if they don't like you or if you annoy them. *****
Again, it's great dealing with Dr. Jennings, but I would prefer to feel welcomed and relaxed before seeing a dentist, rather than stressed out.
