I've been eating here almost since it opened when I used to go with my parents. I'm in my 50's now and I still dine there with my own family. One thing that I will say though, since the Coral was sold by Danny and Irene, the original owners, it's never really been as good as it was then. Back then all the food was just like home cooked, now it seems like most of the food is cooked from packages or cans as opposed to all fresh ingredients. My family are still regular customers but some things have changed since. Even though they offer a vast menu covering all types of food, there are some meals that just don't cut it. Stay away from the fried chicken, it's usually overcooked and dark brown and not too pleasant to eat (I think they're using frozen chicken). They're breakfasts are average with plenty of choices but they have a tendency to overcook the eggs. I ordered over easy eggs and they came over cooked and browned, more than once Unfortunately, this makes the eggs taste burnt. When I requested that they do not brown my eggs, they came with runny whites. As a cook myself, my conclusion is that they have the heat too high for the eggs because they're trying to cook them too fast. Some of the dinner choices are below par so my advise is to choose something that you know you like or you may just get an un-satisfying meal. Every time I have ordered a baked potato with my dinner, it has never been hot, just barely warm, who knows why? I say, send it back! The service, can be good or not, one time you'll get a great server and another time you wonder where they went when you need something and your server is no where to be found. All in all, you really can't go wrong here, you just need to make your choices wisely. The prices are definitely fair and reasonable. The owners here just need to tighten up on the help a bit and consider improving their quality control on the food they serve. If they try hard enough, who knows, they just might make it like back in the old days.
