This is a social club for teens and young adults. The club has a common theme - games - but they go much further than that. Picnics, parties, campouts, crafts, job programs, etc. The people in this club are great. They are not a religious group or a bunch of elitists. They are just really nice people, from all walks of life that have come together to help kids and young adults make friends and spend their time doing fun and interesting activities. I wholeheartedly endorse this group and advise those interested in checking out the stuff they offer.
Pros: Good People, Great Activities, Low to No Cost
Cons: Infrequent Meetings, Need more volunteers, Events fill-up fast

Chihuahua Rescue is run by Kimi Peck and has been featured in several national magazines, including People. This is a non-profit, no kill shelter that rescues abandoned and abused Chihuahuas (and other dogs in emergencies). They are particularly helpful in saving these poor creatures from awful backyard breeders. Even if you can't have a little furry friend in your life, they can sure put your donation to good use since all of the care expenses comes from donations.

Growing up going to this church, I've been able to see it change over time. It has turned into a very pretty place to pray, with nice priests as well. It has a good community feel, and I've always looked forward to attending Mass there. It's easy to find, and they have a great carnival in June.

Volunteering is a great way to spend your time and it's incredible to have an outlet right in the San Fernando Valley. It's hard to find the time to go to the gym let alone volunteer, but as your new years resolution, take the plunge at a place near by. If possible, you will have a great time and probably not regret your decision. Or if nothing else, donate clothes to the salvation army.

More
The Pacific Coast Horse Show Association (PCHA), a non-profit corporation, has as its main purpose the promotion and development of the sport of horse showing, primarily in the Hunter/Jumper and Western disciplines. The PCHA office computes points in many divisions offered at PCHA-sanctioned shows for members and horses that are registered with the association. Every January, at the PCHA Annual Awards Banquet, some 300 Year End Championship Awards are given. It is a well-respected association which draws many riders every year to compete for the year-end awards. They approve about 150 shows per year.
