i want to love coley's 1/16/2012

my husband and i were so excited when we found this place. the food was amazing and we were committed to going at least once a week to support a neighborhood family owned restaurant. we had many great meals there and then... we had the worst experience ever. the portions were a quarter of what they usually were. my fish was tiny and all skin and bones, my husband's chicken was small and dry and the rice was hard as a rock and the service was horrible-bordering on rude- and we were the only ones in there. we are so sad. we haven't been back. such potential but not consistent. we paid $50 for an inedible lunch and they were not interested in making it right. more

A Bad Day at Coley's? 6/8/2009

I was a dedicated fan of the old Coley's on Crenshaw Blvd that closed a few years back. So, I looked forward to a nice meal at the North Hollywood location on Sunday with my brother. Pros: Quick seating Cons: Stale food more

Not as good as I thought it would be 10/18/2008

I absolutely love Caribbean food, so I ventured into the valley to give this place a try. Although i cant say anything bad about the experience, it just wasnt memorable to me. the Curry chicken was so-so and the sides were just ok. So far Kassava on 3rd is the best Caribbean spot in LA so far that I've experienced! more

Great atmosphere and service 2/12/2007

I used to go to the Italian Restaurant that was here before it became Coley's so I was a little surprised at the new restaurant but decided to stay and give it a try anyway. I thought the new owners did a great job of redecorating the restaurant. It looks good and there is a great vibe. I've never had Caribbean food before so I don't have anything to compare it to. I ordered the curried chicken and was very happy with the good. The portion sizes were huge and the food tasted wonderful. The restaurant wasn't too big when I was there so I don't know what it's like when it's really busy, but I thought the service was excellent. Overall, I would definitely recommend Coley's! Pros: Great food and service Cons: I can't think of anything negative to say!!!! more
