This was a fantastic experience and I am so grateful to Isa Holloway for his healing abilities! Just as a first time I can absolutely absolutely advocate Acupuncture is a wonderful way to align your chi. A needle was placed in my knee and I felt my abdomen react! Afterwards I felt benefits throughout my body such as digestion, clearer breathing, and an overall awareness of energy. The entire technique was peaceful and relaxing and definitely healing. \r \r WONDERFUL! \r more

I had been dealing with chronic pain, depression and desperately needed to lose weight when I found Isa at Coastal Acupuncture. After only two visits I noticed a drastic difference and had lost about 10lbs, this was with a combination acupuncture and acupressure beads in the ear. Isa is amazing and his spiritual approach is what makes the difference! more

Having tried acupuncture before (and had a negative experience) Coastal Acupuncture with Isa Holloway was the best second experience ever! While in the past, acupuncture made me feel jittery and miserable, at Coastal Acupuncture I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed (and I am not someone who falls asleep in public)! I felt wonderful afterwards, and have been going back ever since. Isa is a wonderful person and completely professional and incredibly professional. A truly wonderful experience, and I'm really seeing the positive effects manifest in my life. more

One of THE BEST experiences of my life! My pain and my STRESS are just gone! No idea what shifted or lifted or whatever, but I was amazed. It's been 3 weeks and I am still amazed. You gotta get a session with Isa Holloway at Coastal Acupuncture. He's totally down-to-earth, professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend his form of Acupuncture to anyone. more

A Wonderful Experience!!!\r My first introduction to acupuncture was many years ago. A colleague and I were discussing our difficulties with allergies and sinus congestion during a break at a conference for educators. She recommended a medical doctor that practiced acupuncture. He had helped her with her allergies. I thought it was worth a try so I went to see this doctor. After our initial consultation, I was led into a brightly lit, silent, cold room. I was asked to lie on an examination table and the needles were quickly inserted. I was left alone lying on the cold table staring at the white tiled ceiling waiting for the treatment to be completed and the doctor to return. The whole experience was very austere and clinical. I was told I would have to return for a series of treatments for the acupuncture to help my allergies. I paid about $250.00 for that one session and I never returned not because of the cost of the treatment or even the skill of the doctor but because of the manner the treatment was administered. Sadly, I missed a healing I might have otherwise received had I returned.\r It was many more years before I tried acupuncture again. The acupuncture I experience at Coastal Acupuncture Savannah with Isa Holloway was completely different!!! I was warmly greeted by Isa and after the initial consultation I was escorted to an inviting room to lie on a heated, massage table. The room was soon darkened. A scent of rosemary gently infused the air. I was covered with a soft blanket and soothing eye pads were placed over my eyes. In the background, muted music played. Isa quietly talked to me explaining what he was doing as he quickly and expertly inserted the needles… \r Needless to say, I returned for the additional sessions and I received a healing. I did not have to use any allergy medications for well over a year; whereas before the treatments, I was using medication almost daily. Furthermore, Isa’s fee for the initial visit was much more reasonable than the doctor’s and I was able to purchase an economy package for the follow-up visits. Isa also told me he makes house calls for the home bound! \r All these sensory techniques that Isa Holloway employed during our sessions were scientifically based to reduce stress and encourage relaxation during treatments. These techniques made all the difference to me and I am grateful. \r Sheila\r more

Wow! What WAS that?!? Seriously amazing experience. 100% recommended.\r \r I left Coastal Acupuncture feeling like a million bucks. Almost like I was high. Never experienced anything like it. I've waited 5 days to write this review just to see if the pain in my shoulder and neck would stay away. It has. Completely. I've had plenty of Acupuncture, but not that worked like this. And never with meditation and Prana Yoga included. Go see this guy. Knowledgable. Cool. Real. \r more

This has been a horrible year for me and my family. We lost a daughter to a homicide, my long term degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia symptoms were out of control and I had to recover from yet another spinal surgery. My migraine headaches were off the charts and the depression had set in to where I was loosing my way. I had been to a good acupuncturist in my lifetime and received help but I was getting nerve blocks for the occipital headaches at the time. Not until Living Socials had a special for Coastal Acupuncture with Greg ""Isa"" Holloway did I decide to give it a try again and so glad I did. I am now at peace with myself. My headaches are manageable (I have been suffering with migraines since the age of 6) and my fibromyalgia symptoms are diminishing. I am able to work on my core strength now to help with my degenerative disc disease which is vital to my health. The difference in the treatment from Isa through Coastal Acupuncture is more of a meditative spiritual transformation process allowing me total release for which I had not experienced with prior acupuncture treatment. Isa is a true practitioner in his field for this is powerful healing. I will continue my treatments and highly recommend his care to all who desire relief! J. Pickels RN more

This is one of the very few reviews that I have ever written. It's just not my thing. But I felt compelled, so here goes:\r \r I had heard great things about acupuncture and about Isa Holloway. Like another reviewer I read, it was an MD who initially suggested that I try acupuncture, and that I try Isa in particular, but I still had my doubts as I called to make an appointment. I've been down so many dead-end roads seeking relief from my pain and lethargy. But after speaking with Isa, I felt encouraged. And I also felt heard, which was a pleasant surprise. He couldn't have been more patient and courteous, giving me several pertinent references to clinical trials on acupuncture conducted by leading medical schools and by the Mayo Clinic. \r \r When I entered his office, I was greeted by his assistant, who was very welcoming. After I filled out a medical history intake form, she entered my contact information into a computer database. She couldn't have been sweeter. A nutritionist / esthetician, a massage therapist, a holistic MD, and a Chiropractor all share the second floor of the building with Coastal Acupuncture. I got to meet a couple of them in passing and was very impressed with the professionalism all around.\r \r I was told that I was welcomed to relax in one of the waiting rooms after the treatment and have complimentary herbal teas or spring water. Then she took me to my room. Ambient lighting, wonderfully relaxing music, the option of an adjustable lambswool heating pad beneath the sheet on my table, and interesting tapestries and decor welcomed me. I was also impressed that there was a voice-activated monitor on the wall, so that if I could easily call her or Isa during my treatment if I wanted to.\r \r Then Isa came in, full of life and enthusiasm. His eyes sparkled as he took my pulse, looked at my tongue and explained the basics of acupuncture theory and its interesting path from being shunned to being widely accepted in the western medical field. Isa's father, an old-fashined country Doctor who still makes house-calls in rural Georgia, loves Acupuncture. \r \r The treatment itself was just incredible. Painless. Interesting. And actually fun! He asked if I wanted an eye pillow and a mist of rose water along with a guided meditation. I've never meditated, but I was very intrigued, and I trusted Isa, so I agreed. What followed was so relaxing and other-worldly that I can't really describe it. I knew that I wasn't asleep, and yet I felt like I was floating and surrounded by my guardian angels. I appreciated immensely that Isa never pushed any dogma or religious beliefs. What he spoke about was being in the present moment. Allowing the worries of my mind to rest as I became more and more aware of the sounds of the ocean waves, the sea gulls, the warmth of the ""sand"" beneath me, the music and my breathing. In my entire adult life, I have never, really never, felt that relaxed and at peace. \r \r Five months later, my chronic aches and pains are still at bay. My hip pain, knee pain and plantar issues are just gone. Needles to say, I am a very happy camper! I still use the acupressure methods that Isa taught me, and I enjoy a very sweet quiet time not just in the morning but unexpectedly during the day. According to my friends and family, I am a much less stressed-out and a much nicer person. And I have the get-up-and-go that I used to have years ago! \r \r In conclusion, let me say that I have sent my husband, my son and his wife, two of my grandchildren and numerous friends to Isa. They all had similar experiences. Wherever you are in the country or in the world, do yourself a favor: find yourself an acupuncturist. And if you're in Savannah, Georgia, make an appointment with Isa. more

Beyond a doubt one of the best experiences I've had in a long, long time. Definitely the highlight of my visit to Savannah. I've been an Acupuncturist in Oregon for almost 14 years, and I gotta say that Isa takes it to a whole new level. It was like a combo of meditation, dream-time, deep sleep and a vacation to a beach in paradise. This guy rocks. He combines all his impressive clinical knowledge with something magic. I'm seriously blown away. Just do it! more

I am still floating on air after my Acupuncture experience with Isa. Moving from city to city, I've been to several different Acupuncturists over the years, but I've never enjoyed it as much as I did with him. So much quiet depression that I had gotten used to carrying around has lifted, and I'm not trapped in my head anymore. My system feels calm and clear. Amazing. Really. Oh, and I should mention that I am now free from pain meds and sleeping pills. My headaches, back pain and insomnia have all completely disappeared. That's why I went to see him in the first place, after my family Doctor recommended him. \r \r Isa's manner is genuine, gentle and compassionate. And he obviously knows his stuff. I felt very welcomed and at home the moment we met. Everyone that I've talked to who has experienced Isa's unique form of body, mind, spirit Acupuncture agrees with me. Including my doctor and his wife, who both see Isa regularly. \r \r Even if you are used to traditional, clinical Acupuncture (like I was), you really owe it to yourself to try Isa's style. You will absolutely not regret it. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/28/2013

My visits to coastal acupuncture have been very therapeutic. Isa is incorporating energetic, archetypal and otherwise esoteric intentions into his work. He is integrating new paradigm techniques into his acupuncture. This is something I feel is a nature of the science, that unfortunately is misunderstood by some. My experiences were very personal, extraordinarily healing, visualizations and meditative states facilitated by the environment and my open mindedness to surrendering. I was on no substances, yet felt a serious buzz both times I left, especially the second visit. I felt great for a while afterwords, and the introspective healing continues.\r \r I recommend Coastal acupuncture, understanding how to work with energetic concentration required for a more potent acupuncture experience is facilitated by Isa's techniques. his acupuncture provides a medium for that expression of personal healing consciousness. \r \r I'm grateful for my visits to Coastal acupuncture, they have helped me tremendously in numerous ways. I will be returning. more

This is not the place to go if you're looking for acupuncture that is strictly clinical without any new agey spiritual sorts of elements incorporated. The acupuncturist told me things such as that the angels were gathering in the room to be with me and a bunch of stuff about heartache, the universe, and past lives that made little sense to me. This is totally fine if you're into that type of stuff. However, as someone who isn't a very spiritual person, I was very uncomfortable and kind of wanted to run out of the room and back outside where people spoke my language and I didn't have to nod along with a bunch of stuff that I didn't believe in. \r \r As another user noted, he does stick needles through the clothing, which didn't strike me as particularly sanitary (he also did not wipe down my skin with alcohol before inserting the needles like my previous acupuncturist did). Again, if you're comfortable with this, by all means, different strokes and such. However, I wish he would have asked my permission before inserting needles into my clothing. I had just bought the shirt I was wearing and certainly did not want any needles, no matter how thin, in it. \r \r I also didn't personally get the impression that the acupuncturist himself took the Chinese medicine modality seriously. He halfheartedly felt my pulses while explaining that acupuncturists basically never agree on a pulse diagnosis so as to suggest that it was pretty pointless, but he'd go through the motions out of obligation. Then he literally told me, ""Let me look at your tongue for the heck of it. Okay, it's a good tongue."" He hurriedly inserted what felt like easily over 40 needles in me while explaining that he was taking a ""blanket"" approach to my visit. I think what he meant was he was just going to needle many or all bodily systems instead of needling points aimed at addressing certain symptoms, but I'm not sure. His entire approach felt, well, sloppy. It didn't seem as though there was much rhyme or reason behind what he was doing, nor did I get the impression that he particularly cared to address the specific reasons I had come in for. I'm not sure if he even looked at my forms, which by the way, are not nearly as thorough as those I've seen other acupuncturists use. All he wanted from me was my contact info, where I'd heard about him, whether I had any allergies or was on any meds, and a brief description of why I was there.\r \r I wound up asking to leave early because between the music in the room, the smelly stuff he had sprayed, the extremely hot blanket beneath me, and the blankets/eye pillow he had covered my face and body with, I was feeling very sensory overloaded, dizzy, and suffocated. His assistant came into the room and removed the needles for me. She missed several that I noticed while getting off the table. I don't want to think about what could have happened had any needles been left in my skin unnoticed, but it wasn't her fault since she wasn't there when he inserted them to see where he put them all.\r \r I then sat in the waiting room waiting for the acupuncturist for a few minutes. He came in and told me that what I was feeling was good and a sign that the energy was flowing through me. Except I knew that wasn't the case because the sensory overload feeling wasn't anything new to me..it often happens when I'm in environments with too much external stimuli. I told him that no, it wasn't good, and I wanted to go home. He continued to insist that it was a good thing and tried to convince me to come back in after I had explained that I had no desire to return for any further visits. Eventually, he let me pay and leave, and that was the end of my...interesting experience.\r \r I wouldn't necessarily advise people against visiting Coastal Acupuncture, as different approaches resonate with different people. However, I would advise them to have an idea of what they're getting into before scheduling an appointment. more

My visit to Coastal Acupuncture was the most demeaning experience of my life. Before my visit, I spoke at length with the acupuncturist Isa (Greg) Holloway, and he promised me that he would confer with my present doctor of acupuncture in St. Simon's Island before my visit. When I arrived, he said he had been too busy to do so. I filled out pages of health information; however, when he came in to treat me, he stated that he was too busy to look over the information. He said that he would just give me a general ""stress procedure."" He quickly stuck needles THROUGH MY CLOTHING, wrapped my arms and legs in blankets, put a sandbag cloth over my eyes, and sprinkled some mist over me saying that Jesus and the angels were watching over me. I was laid on a warm bed which became unbearably hot. He and his receptionist promised that I would be out of the office by 3 because I had a very important business meeting at 3:30. I was forgotten. In the meantime. I finally had to throw off the covers and uncover my eyes because I was so uncomfortable. Finally, the receptionist came in to remove the needles. She couldn't find them all, so I had to assist. I came home with one still in my body. I got dressed and was shocked to find that my pocketbook had been removed from the room without my permission of knowledge. It had been placed in the outer office on the floor. \r \r I was upset. Isa was nowhere around. I told the receptionist that I would not be back for the other two sessions I had paid for. Finally, he walked out, and I expressed my concern that he had neither consulted my primary acupuncturist who is a doctor nor had he bothered to read my files. I was more than troubled that he removed my handbag. I left; however, when I discovered that I had missed my meeting, I re-entered and asked why on earth I had been forgotten. He folded his hands, smiled, and said, ""Well, I guess this has been a misfortune on all accounts."" \r \r If I were you, I would think carefully before purchasing a visit to this place. I have never felt so demeaned and violated. more

Thank you! 3/25/2012

I do not even know where to begin to describe my experience! Amazing, Profound, exhilarating yet calming all at the same time. I went for over all wellness, sounded good to me. However when I sat with Isa and we began to talk I realized I needed to share some life changing events. I am a breast cancer survivor, Heart survivor But even worse I lost my only Son Ryan 7 years ago. Isa focused on or rather he helped me focus on my buried grief. Isa started the process I immediately relaxed. I can only try to explain what happened with words you will relate to, and it will not really explain it completely. as I lay there emotions, people, places, events rushed ( much like in movies when the clouds change from dark to light Zooming by). it was only seconds but so much! through it all in those seconds I was on the beach with Ryan him in his favorite swimsuit, running toward the water giggles mingling with the oceans waves. i know i always have Ryan in my heart but for a moment we were together again. I cannot express how I felt, no words are exact, amazing enough. It gave me a calm, a smile that is still with me three weeks later! Isa I am so glad I found you! If you are looking for an acupuncturist, I SO recommend Isa Holloway, there are other good ones BUT Isa treats you so incredibly special. Smiles, Debo1978 more
