The Lady and Sons is run by the now famous Paula Deen and her two sons. The restaurant specializes in Southern style comfort food. There is always an enormous line outside of the restaurant so be sure to make a reservation. The prices seem a bit high, but after your first bite of food you will realize that it is well worth the money! Paula is often around the restaurant herself. The staff is extremely nice and dripping with Southern charm. If you're lucky, they will be passing biscuits to the people waiting in line. Be sure to try the hoe cakes for dessert! A++ all around on this restaurant.

had a fabulous dinner on a recent trip to Savannah - recommended by the Concige at the Doubltree. Made a reservation (earliest was 8:15) - so we got there a little early, had a drink in the neat bar and at 8:15 prompt they had a table for us in the main, front dining room. Service was superb as was the food. Was non inexpensive but who cares for this once a year experience. We'll be back.
Pros: Service, food and ambience
Cons: I don't live in Savannah

You have to love a restaurant called Vinny Van GoGo .
They do delivery, we first saw their menu at our B&B but we actually drove down and parked in the parking lot next door (it is not free). It was a Saturday night and there was no way we were ever going to get a seat inside so we placed our order and when we picked it up we sat outside and ate it. I even got a beer to go.
Now be warned, there are a lot of people wandering around here and we got pan handled more than once but it was great fun anyway and the pizza and salad were very good.

This is a kid-friendly restaurant but the previous review makes it out like it is a kiddie restaurant built to resemble a pirate's house, playing off the theme made popular lately by the movies. This was a REAL pirate's house, even mentioned in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island! It is one of the oldest houses in Georgia and a sight to see without even eating there. The food is spectacular. We knew we would only have time to have one dinner in Savannah, and my parents were right to recommend this place. I had pecan-encrusted fried chicken and my boyfriend had pecan-encrusted salmon, by far the most delicious use of the word encrusted I'd ever encountered. Our dinner was ready before we were even done with our delicious bread, and this was on a Friday night, granted,a little early (around 6:30). I can't say enough good things about the experience.

I am a local of Savannah and go to love's seafood quite often. Love's has a great atmosphere and view of the Ogeechee river. Meanwhile the food is exceptional, the cleanliness of the building meets my high standards, and the service is great. Sometimes you do have to wait a while for your food, but the great view and friendly atmosphere makes up for that. I highly recommend this resturaunt to everyone with a taste for seafood and steaks wether local or visiting.

We went for lunch on a Tuesday and had to wait about an hour due to several large tour buses that were there that day. The food was excellent We had the chargrilled oyseters, the crab stew and a combo basket of fried shrimp and oysters., Everything was outstanding. The lunch menu is mainly fried items, so I would have preferred some other more healthy options, and I think the atmosphere has a little to be desired but the food makes up for it. The service was average. Our wait for drinks at our table from the bar bordered on unacceptable. Will definately go back anytime I'm in Savannah.
Pros: The food, the food, the food

I took my family for a wonderful dinner last Saturday evening. Every thing was wonderful from the calamari to the filets. Well worth the price.
