Casa De Soto

Being that it was my birthday, my co-workers decided to take me out to eat. I chose Casa De Soto because I like the food. Two of my co-workers have really bad food allergies, and usually at our luncheons they bring there own food from home. Well, when the owner of CASA DE SOTO saw them with the food, he rudely came up to them and told them ""this is not a city park, DO NOT bring your food in here. "" When we asked the owner politly and explained to him about the allergies, and if he can make an exception since there were only two people with outside food and about 15 of us buying food from his restaurant, again he said very rude ""THIS IS NOT A CITY PARK, IF YOU WANT, THEY CAN PAY ME TO SIT HERE IN MY ESTABLISHMENT."" That was such a dissapointment to me, because I like the food. We all walked out. I will never go to Casa de Soto again. The waiters are nice, but the owner has a very bad attitude and obviously he doesn't care if he loses business. So, I'm asking that whoever reads this, DON'T GO! Please don' t support this man's restaurant. We ended up going to Red Robin down the street, and they had no problem with my two co-workers bringing in the food. Whenever we want excellent food, friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere, this is the place we go. Our out-of-town guests have all had lunch or dinner here because we know they won't be disappointed, and every time they return, this is their first choice of where to dine. We've taken family and friends from Utah, Colorado, Washington State, Alaska, Chicago, Missouri, and Arizona here when they visit. We all had great food in ample quantities, at a price that everyone can afford. The staff is family oriented and attentive. The atmosphere is that of familiarity, and yes, they need some minor repairs, but the food and service makes it really easy to ovelook that small point. Try them, you won't be disappointed and will probably become a regular. Pros: Food quality and quantity excellent for the value, great service, friendly atmosphere. Cons: Needs a little sprucing up inside, but still passable. more

You would drive right past if you weren't looking for the restaurant. A deceivingly good size place with the best homestyle Mexican food around. Casa de Soto has been a favorite of mine for over 25 years. The service is always FAST and friendly, the prices are inexpensive, and the food is a great value and consistant in quality. The restaurant is in need of some interior upgrades, but that is what makes is so comfy, adds to it's charm, and feels just like home. Don't go for the looks- GO FOR THE FOOD and the MARGARITAS!
