Two visits. The first when I was looking for a dress. They completely did not listen to what I wanted. I was shown some pretty tacky dresses that were the opposite of what I wanted. Second experience. I was looking for a specific bolero to go with the dress I purchased at another shop. The problem with the original shop is that they didn't carry the brand that corresponds to the jacket I wanted. Carlisles was listed as having the brand I wanted so I went in. There were two sales people and no customers in the store yet getting someone to answer my question was difficult. The woman was condescending. She didn't even bother to say hello. She basically told me I was an idiot. I don't get how this business can survive with this sort of b.s. more

I went to this bridal salon today to search for a wedding dress. It was the second venue of the day and after finding a dress that I love at the first place I still wanted to see what else was out there. When we arrived I was greeted at the desk, filled out a form to tell about my wedding and began talking to the woman that would be helping me (can't remember her name, blonde lady). She asked what kind of dress I was looking for and I told her that I liked mermaid dresses (to which she made a face) and then asked what my price range was. I told her it was $1500 and she wanted to get started. Along with me I had 3 bridesmaids and my mother, all of whom wanted to help pick out dresses also. They picked a few and put them in the dressing room and we went in to try them on. I did not have a strapless bra and she did not offer to get me any sort of undergarment to wear under the dresses (odd I thought because both the stores before and after this one offered one). She put the first dress on me, I wasn't crazy about it but showed it to the ladies that were with me, they also didn't like it so I took it off. We went back in to the dressing room, she looked through the dresses that my friends and family had chosen and said either ""this is too much dress for you"" or ""this is out of your price range"" and did not let me try them on. She then went out and picked a dress, pretty but again not something that I fell in love with. I told her that I wasn't crazy about it and she asked me what exactly I was looking for, I showed her the picture on my phone of the dress that I saw at the other store and liked and she simply said ""I know what you are looking for but we just don't have anything for you here"". I was completely floored. Not only is she supposed to be a sales person and it supposed to present me with all of my options but she didn't even offer any alternatives. So I got dressed and left. My sister, who knew one of the girls that was in the store stayed to chat with her friend while the rest of us went out to wait. While she was in there the woman (who must not have known she was with us) was talking to the other ladies in the store saying that she didn't know why I even went to the store and that they didn't have anything for me especially since my budget was only $1500. I have never been treated so poorly by a sales person. I had considered searching for the dresses for my 7 bridesmaids there but I will never again set foot in that store, give any money or time to them or recommend them to anyone. Do not go to this store. more

Great experience 12/19/2010

I just went to try on wedding dresses on th 18th of December. I had a really great experience and may have found my dress. Amanda was my salesperson and she was so helpful and wonderful. There were a few other women that worked there as well and their input was welcomed. I really liked Carlisle's and would recommend this store to any bride looking for their dress. more

Worst experience trying on dresses! 2/6/2009

This was the worst experience I have had trying on wedding dresses. 1) WEBSITE: I asked to see a dress that was on the website and they had no idea what was on their website. I tried to describe it, still nothing. Then I asked if the could pull up the website and they said they didn't have internet.\r 2) Employee: the girl I had to help with dresses just said ""Go through and pull the dresses you want to try on."" I told her I was new to this and wanted some of her suggestions. She pulled a few dresses but wasn't very excited about me being there at ALL!\r 3) Dresses: It was a small selection and a lot of the dresses looked like they were 10 years old with fraying ends and makeup stains on the dresses. The worst part is that most of the dresses were a size 6 or 8 and I need a 10 or 12. All of the dresses looked horrible on me b/c they were no where near my size, not to mention this is supposed to be a good experience for a new bride, instead it was humiliating. I am not a big person but I am not a size 6 either! They told me I didn't have to bring anything with me when I asked if I needed to bring a bra or shoes or a slip. They didn't give me a slip and the strapless bra was very old and poorly made. \r 4) Bridesmaids dresses: The selection was poor and there were several dresses that had styles of the 1980s or dresses that someone would wear for an ice skating or dancing with the stars routine. By those dresses being at this place, I knew this was not the place for me.\r I have since been to nicer bridal shops and had a great experience. Some of my friends had a better experience at Carlisle's but I wanted to share mine. Just being honest. Pros: location Cons: service and selection more
