Cameo is fine to go to for a hair cut or color, but if your thinking about going there for school, SIT DOWN TILL THAT NOTION PASSES! This school is a business, and when it comes down to it, that is all that matters to them. They are money hungry and know every trick in the book to get every cent they can out if their students. more

This had to be the best year yet!! I loved their free services without a ticket. I had the opportunity to try electrolysis, which I was scared at first, but now glad that I did and will go back to do it again. more

We loved it! the four of us had a great time even though it was a little crazy, but we expected that. we will be back next year. more

It was a great way to get to know the space and the services offered, since it was my first time there. I loved the express facial that I got and plan to come back! As a recent graduated of “Cameo College of Essential Beauty”, I am very excited to star my career. This is a fantastic school to attend to gain new advanced skills and techniques, in any of the programs that Cameo College offers. They do an excellent job preparing you with the requirements for licensure. During my journey at Cameo College in The Master Medical Esthetics Program, I learn advanced skills and techniques in theory and application, gained hands-on experience in advanced spa techniques that allowed me to graduate as an experienced Esthetician and prepared me to assess and meet the unique needs of each of my future clients. A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, DR. FRYER, teaches the medical part of this program, which is a huge plus. He is an expert in his field. His lectures are extremely informative and educational and helped me provide better services. As a student, we can earn the opportunity to do an externship at his Clinic and Medical Spa. Also as a part of this program, they offer a Personal and Business Development course called “Nuts and Bolts”. They emphasize leadership and management to better prepare you to advance in your career. This program delivers a strong foundation in the business world. Cameo College is a state of the art facility that offers many opportunities for students. I want to thank Cameo College for the great education they provided me. more

Hi. I just went to cameo today to get my first laser hair removal appointment. I received a thorough consultation about a week ago and today was my actual treatment. I was really pleased with the process. The facility was very clean, the staff was very professional and the whole process was very fast. Besides that, the price was awesome. I would definitely recommend Cameo College to all my friends and family more

Just wanted to let it be known that the Cameo College is one the best Schools around actually to me is the Best. I always have a great experience there doing my nails or getting a haircut and everyone who is student there is very Friendly and they go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and are happy, you definitely feel important as a valued customer which is so nice and rarely seen. I recently went to this beauty school because my boyfriend bought me a gift card. I decided to just lighten my hair from black to just a dark brown or red.. nothing too extreme. Let alone hard to do. First of all, I was stared down by two students gossiping at the receptionist desk. Of course that just set the mood, as my name got called, I had a nice student greet me, but as she sat me down for a consultation , she had no idea what questions to ask, she didn't get any information from me before getting an instructor, who didn't even introduce herself , came up grabbing at my hair. For all i knew she might have been another student!.. well to make the story short, these rookies followed their intructors lead, and FRIED my hair.. I ended up being at the salon from noon to ten o clock at night!!! Leaving the salon with bright red roots and black ends!!! I ended up making a appointment at my friends salon for a haircut to basically cut off my ruined hair! I was so mad, i left in tears!! and Not only did the intructor pay attention to what the students were doing, but she tried telling me it was my fault... WTF?!?! I was treated so poorly. I suggest never going to this place!!! more

My first experience at Cameo was an eyelash perm. I had never gotten this before, so didn't know what to expect. I left the college 25$ (20$ service, 5$ tip) poorer looking EXACTLY the same. I didn't know if it was the quality of the service that was bad, or that an eyelash perm just didn't work for me, either way I left with nothing. Next, I went in for eyelash extensions since it was apparent that a perm wasn't going to work. It took 3hrs 45mins and the whole time the girl was sighing and seeming very frustrated. She kept pushing down on my lashes and plucking and reapplying. When I opened my eyes I had glue all over my lids. I do amateur extensions for my friends and family and have never gotten glue on actual skin! So someone who I had to assume had at least taken a class on them could be sooo messy baffled me. But the person who came to supervise said that my lashes looked wonderful so under all that glue i assumed it did. The room was rather dark and I couldn't see my lashes very well, also I was now late for an appointment so I quickly paid the 100$ and then tipped the girl 20$ and hurry went on my way. When I had gotten home to actually look at myself...it scared me. All my lashes were glued together...every..single...one. Some of the lashes were turned downward and several clumps were already falling out and some lashes were glued to my actual eye lid. I had just paid 120$ for these, I knew they were students, but I have done fantastic work on friends without any training so assumed someone who was taking classes would do at the very least as well as me. I was wrong. Now, I'm confident in saying that the students are poorly educated, and the supervisor staff could careless about the quality they are giving customers. I quickly plucked out all the lashes taking with them most of my own, but I couldn't stand the itch on my lids and the terrible lash job. Look elsewhere for lash extensions, a professional job doesn't cost much more than what I paid. Pros: Friendly students Cons: Terrible results more

I had hear raving reviews about the amazing service at this salon. However, when I went to have my hair dyed. I came home + saw that my roots were still visible. When I called later that day to have it fixed, they stated that it would be a whole new service fee to have my roots colored. more

I love the facials but they are often shorter than they advertise. I expect to get what I paid for. When I complained Holly the manager was very rude and didn't listen to my complaint stating they are students. Pros: I like the facials Cons: They are often shorter than what you pay for more

K so I have to put my two sense, yes Cameo does have a great education I couldn't ask for a better way to cut hair but I do have some issues with the school it seems like they try every way they can to squeeze an extra dollar out of you I understand that being at school is the only way your going to learn but I've had some family issues that I need to attend to and because I didnt have doctors notes they suspended me it's a college it's not like I told the teacher to F-off in some cases I would love to but still I'm paying a lot of money to go to this school and if I need to miss a few days then I should be able to with out consequence I'm paying to be here another thing we have a certain amount of hours that we have to be there to graduate in my case 2000 and I've noticed that if I stay 10 min after I'm supposed to because I'm with a client I dont get that time it has to be more than 15 min. in order for it to count, but dont you think we should be getting that time I am there and I'm working so the owner can get more money but dont you think I deserve that time I think it's another way to make us pay more at the end because if they dont count it, it goes against us in the end I could transfer to another school but at this point just with 800 hours I have with cameo it would cost me $12,000 not including my kit and books and everything else cameo would tack on and the schooling's only 15,500 now is that highway robbery or what Pros: good education, love my instructors Cons: money hungry doesnt seem like to students are important more

My wife and I received services at CAMEO and were extremely disappointed. I went with an understanding that it IS a school, and the prices are lower, therefore the professionalism or services received would likely be less quality. However, we left not only feeling unclean, but also as if we had been robbed of our $110. I received a facial, which was no more than a light patting of oils and creams onto my face- no massage techniques, no working the muscles or anything. Included with the "facial" was a hand and foot massage, which again, was no more than a gentle rubbing of lotion onto my foot- again, no massage. I had even put "firm" onto the form I filled out for the type of massage I would like. Also, the bed linens were extremely dirty, and a little damp from the previous customer. It was gross. My wife received a full body spa service, and she said the tub was very dirty, and the student just cleaned it by spraying some water on it- no actual cleaning. Also, her service was misleading-no more than a light spreading of lotion over her body. The student did not perform any kind of massage technique. I know they're students, but nothing was done that we could not have done ourselves easily at home for under $5 and without education. In addition, my 1 hour 45 minute facial, and her 2 hour body spa service both only lasted 1 hour 15 minutes. This is something they can control, students or not. The website was quite misleading. Both students were very nice however, and so at the end it was quite awkward when they bring you to the front desk to pay and then ask you to rate the service performed with them standing right there. The student who performed services for my wife didn't even ask, we saw her just give herself a 4 out of 5 automatically. After we left, my wife noticed my facial skin was quite dry and red. I assume there are some top notch students studying there, but in our side by side experience in different areas of the building with different students, we both noticed the same dirty environment and poor techniques. The owner, Kelly Whitworth, refuses to pay me for training because I opted to not work there. We live in a right to work state, which means either party can terminate employment at any reason at any time. Nothing was stated beforehand about non-payment if training wasn't completed. I emailed her asking about payment, and she flat out refused to pay me, because I didn't chose to work there. more

In regards to Cameo College of Essential Beauty... It is a nice facility that offers many opportunites for motivated students.... however we are worked worked worked. I was excited to go to Cameo because of the reputation it holds, and the Esthetics courses offered versus other colleges in UT. Being a Cameo student I have realized that it does offer advanced classes and treatments; just being able to learn those correctly is the hard part. There is not enough time to learn, this is a school and I think many agree, it is worked more like a business. We are there to take appointments, yes this can be a good thing, but not 4 out of the 5 days we are there. We get plenty of practice with your basics (facials, pedicures, manicures) but taking a course offered as MASTER ESTHETICS I feel as though more advanced treatments (peels, micros, dermasound, etc) should be a larger focus. To get us ready for the real world we need EDUCATION too; sure we may have resources more readily available, however, I can buy the books we use online and teach myself just as much as I am learning there. But being comfortable with clients is important too, maybe just to a lesser extent... more balance between education and appointments would be good!! If you are looking for a college to attend, make sure they offer good education along with being able to take appointments!! Organization is helpful as well!! more

Oh I have to comment on the post left by Dream2Dream. Hey Valerie your underwear were in a bunch when you wrote this post did someone cut you off on the freeway today. So did you wake up every morning and chose to be bitter about Cameo and the rules or did you act like an adult. Oh by the way I to am a former Cameo student and I would have to say with all my experience with other professionals in this industry I would say that I have learned way more than most. The current Cameo esthetics instructors know more then you every will about esthetics and you and I both know that you never taught any chemistry class. So maybe you should take your own advice that you made after a former Sanctuary employee slammed on you and think about maybe school was bad because you made it that way. Because you said it yourself life is what you make it right? Oh and so everyone knows that if you want to graduate on time you have to actually go to school and not make it hard on yourself like Valerie did. Oh and Valerie don?t you think that because of your education and the information you took from Cameo got you to the position you have today being the Manager of Sanctuary. Think about it!! So everyone if you are thinking about visiting Cameo for a service or becoming a student don?t take Valerie?s advice and go there and make your own opinion. Because she is one of the hundreds of students that graduate from Cameo each year and her opinion doesn?t matter, because she wants to act like a high school student and hold a grudge. more

I am a retired Cosmetology Instructor from the state of Arizona. I was visiting a friend in Salt Lake City, Utah for the 4th of July. She had scheduled us an appointment for an European facials at Cameo College. I have never worked at or experienced such professionalism and cleanliness in my life. The college is absolutely gorgeous and spotlessly clean. It is nicer than most professional spa's. The entire experience was top notch from the receptionist who greeted us promptly and professionally to the Esthetics students who did the service and the cashier that rang up the sale. The education is superior at Cameo, it was the best 1 1/2 hours I have spent being pampered in my life. They used Dermalogica and Glymed products and my skin just glowed when I left. I was so relaxed I did not want to get off the heated treatment table when the service ended. Kudos to Cameo educators, students, staff and owner. Pros: Facility, education and staff Cons: None more
