Superb Restaurant 4/10/2006

This is the place to go to impress someone. Hubby and I had a delicious meal at the Carlton Restaurant. This is a classy place and the food is superb. We also had delicious Breadworks crusty bread with our meal. Nice Treat. Afterwards, we had a limo take us over to Heinz Hall for a show which was a special treat. It was a five star experience! more

The Carlton 6/2/2005

One Mellon Bank Pittsburgh, PA 15219 Phone: 412/391-4099 I believe that “understated elegance” is the appropriate description for this beautiful restaurant, located in the Mellon Bank Center, across the street from the old jail, now the County Courthouse. The service is fast, the menu has a nice variety, the food is delicious and the presentation exquisite. This is the perfect restaurant to take out-of-towners who have flown in for one business meal. And besides, The Carlton has the best crème brulee of anyone in town. Even my friend Bob agreed that it was perfect, and, being from Chicago, he is the expert on all food, especially crème brulee (apparently). Of note: my waiter presented me with a pair of reading glasses when he realized that I had left mine at home. Now, that’s what I call customer service. more
