The Scene
The waiters and patrons routinely call each other by name at this Central West End favorite. The staff proceeds with a casual efficiency that is completely in tune with a leisurely Sunday meal. The mid-'80s decor is somewhat laughable, but you won't see it if you sit outside, which almost everyone does.
The Food
Light bistro fare is the order of the day: plenty of pastas, salads and sandwiches. If you're just starving, some weightier fish and steak options round out the menu. The most creative and tasty plates show up during brunch. Eggs Madison--a take on eggs Benedict featuring smoked salmon and a spicier-than-usual hollandaise--is a standout, as are the various frittatas. Don't miss the dessert tray: The classic cheesecake is always good, but go ahead and try one of the less familiar offerings. You won't be sorry.
