Good place to have a private party; hearty portions 8/13/2006

My friend Jackie held a private party here on the upper floor. It worked well -- enough room to stand around and talk to people, while keeping it close enoguh so everyone could to talk everyone else. I had the meatloaf sandwich -- very good and very quick. The person working the bar was friendly and organized. Overall, a positive experiencea and a good place to have a party of about 20 people. more

Everyone has been to the BBC! Although have you ever met one of these British Bankers (from the name) there? A traditional sort of pub/bar that has updated itself to go with the flow as it were. Different nights may feature different themes, as specials events, parties, and etc are hosted here. With a full bar and a great outdoors patio is a fun, casual place to grab a drink, or eat a few chips. Some nights are packed, others it can be nearly deserted, so pick your poison. (It sort of depend on whether you want to go to a meat market or just hang out with some pals.) It's a large multi-level space, right on the main drag. more

Editorial
  • The people are beautiful and so is the bar, but the attitude is all about relaxing with good friends.

    The Food
The bar has an extensive single malt selection; hard cider, wine and champagne by the glass; and 12 draughts on tap, including Anchor Steam, Bass, Guinness, Newcastle, and Sam Adams. At lunch and from the pub you can get true English fare: bangers, fish 'n' chips and shepherd's pie. The rest of the menu is strictly American. The lunch menu offers hot and cold sandwiches and salads; appetizers of buffalo wings and potato wedges; and dinner fare heavy on steak and poultry. Desserts change daily.

    The Scene
This is a gorgeous bar. Brass and wood, plush couches, chandeliers, cozy booths and it has great beer on tap and good food. Take a table upstairs with your friends, settle in and enjoy the company.
