Warning: There are number issues with Bill's, including the foul mouthed Bill himself. I would STRONGLY suggest that anyone who has issues with Bill's to file a complaint with the CA Bureau of Automotive Repair (search for ""california automotive repair complaint Bureau"" and it should be one of the top links.\r

I was referred to Bill's by a long time customer of Bill's, as well as a personal friend of Bill's. I sent email to this person as the Saga continued to unfold, which documents my side of the story. It was the worst mistake I have ever made. The short form is that I had a problem with the exhaust on my vehicle, due to the vehicle being from back east. I talked to Bob and the entire exhaust had to be replaced (which was not unexpected). Bob checked on the pricing and I was given a quote for all Toyota parts. Bob said that it did not make sense to use aftermarker parts as the cost savings was not enough. Bob told me that he would keep me informed as to what was going on. After a week of not hearing anything, I called and was told that Bob was on vacation. Joe told me that the parts had been ordered, but from two different places. I asked if all Toyota parts were being used and he checked the computer and said yes. Joe said that they sometimes get factory parts from different supplies (which appears to be a lie). After two weeks I went to Bill's and talked to Alex. I asked where my vehicle was, as I did not see it. He said that they had outsource the job to another shop. Alex also said that the other place had a secured lot, which turned out to be false. The other shop only had the service bays and so they moved my vehicle in and out of the bay draining the batteryi, which I found out later. I told Alex to get my vehicle back asap and to not do any work on it until I talked to Bill, which this was ignored. I went to the other place when they opened and asked if all Toyota parts were being used and was told no, that he was not told to use Toyota parts. Quite upset, I went to Bill's to talk to Bill. Bob refused to listen to me when I told him to not talk to me and continue to spew lies that I had agreed to aftermarket parts. Even when I walked outside, he followed me out and continued with his lies. When I finally talked to Bill, he showed me a calendar and asked what it was. Since I had brought my vehicle to him in June and it was now July, I thought that July was what he was looking for. I was wrong. Bill said no, the year and that my f***ing (he used the actual word) vehicle was old and that parts were hard to get. I said that such language was not appropriate and Bill said, let me repeat myself, getting in my face, and said louder the same thing again. This aspect also make Bill a liar since ALL the parts could be received from Toyota in 3 days, but because he choose to use garbage aftermarket parts, those parts took three weeks. I might also point out that while the areas that the customers see is nice and clean, the back office where this occurred was far from neat and clean. Bill said some other offensive things as well, but he also said that I would have to pay in cash (I had already paid a $500 deposit). Bill showed he has NO concept of customer service, did not care about the fraud that was being attempted or anything else.\r

I ended up going back to the other shop and talked to him about completing the work since I would never set foot in Bill's place again. I ended up letting the other place complete the work, although the price was reduced by around $600 (which shows the fraud on the part of Bill's), but in the end, the parts were unacceptable and I had to order all the missing Toyota parts and get the exhaust replaced again in order to get the vehicle to perform correctly.\r

I suspect that they thought that they could get away with using non-Toyota parts and that I would not notice. I have also heard that Bob was fired over this, but I suspect it was not due to the fraud, but instead getting caught.\r
