Editorial review from Citysearch 9/23/2013

My family has bought around a dozen vehicles from here going back nearly 20 years. I was never satisfied with the service I received from their service dept which has had numerous complete personnel turn overs over the years. The problems with them started with a new 2 day old truck brought in for brake squeal and they tried to tell me it was a non- warranty repair. On a 2 day old truck!!! I had to get the dealer's owner involved before they agreed to warranty it. Well, years down the road when the vehicle needed brakes, I learned that they had never fixed the root of the problem after all and let me drive it with one non functioning brake caliper for years. A potentially deadly mistake that is totally unacceptable.\r \r Another example was when a newly hired service adviser there couldn't understand that a person could own two Ford trucks and deleted all of the repair history since brand new on my other vehicle that was not in there for service at the time. Forever gone, because a clueless rookie employee.\r \r There were several other instances that occurred, mostly related to price gouging that will just make this too long. I guess when you're the only game around you can kind of charge what you want.\r \r The last straw was having my company pickup truck dropped from the lift while in there for service and not so much as a word was ever said to me. I was just dumbfounded at their lack of professionalism by not even mentioning it to me and that they could think someone wouldn't notice a mistake as big as being dropping from a lift. I decided that would be my last trip there and will never, as long as I'm alive, bring another vehicle in there again.\r \r With that said, their Sales employee David Risher is hands down the best and most honest guy we have ever had the pleasure to deal with. It's a shame he works for such a lousy dealer and won't ever be seeing our business again. more

$190 for a transmission fluid change - Price gouging 2/8/2011

After Ford closed the 2 dealerships I have been using (Lincoln Mercury of Beechmont and 32 Ford) to service my 2009 Mercury Mariner. I took my vehicle in for a problem with one of the doors. \r \r While they fixed my door correctly, they also told me I was due for a transmission oil change. No problem with that, but the cost of $190 plus tax gave me a little concern. \r \r I called around and found that the going rate for a transmission change ranges from $99 to $130, not $190. Seems that Ford uses a special oil in the transmission Mercon LV which is not in general distribution right now. Can't get it at autozone, O'Reilly's, or even Valvoline Instant Oil Change. \r \r Kerry Ford offers a transmission fluid change for $130 using this special oil. I guess with no competition on the East Side and the Beechmont Corridor, Beechmont Ford thinks they can charge what they want. \r \r more

Service Department Stinks 1/20/2010

I was in town visiting family and needed to get my brakes done. When I called I was quoted a price of 170.00 for the front brakes. I dropped it off that night and they said they would work on it first thing the next morning. I had to call back at 11:00 and was told it was just being looked at. 45 minutes later I got a call saying that all the brakes neeeded to be done for a price of 750.00. When asking what just the fronts would cost, was quoted 240.00, way over what I was told the night before. So I had them done, being in a hard place out of town. Then I had to call back at 3:30 and ask if it was done as I was trying to leave town. They said ""oh yea, it has been done for a while, come on over and I will track down the paperwork."" Just rediculous that I had to make all the calls to the service department. When I got there, the total bill was 268.99, even more than I was quoted on the phone. The crazy thing was that they wanted to charge me 500.00 for the rear brakes and when I got home, I changed them with lifetime pads for 132.00 and 1 hour of my time and that was going and getting them from the store. I do wish that I got paid 368.00 an hour for my work :) I called and spoke to the customer service manager regarding this. He stated that he would look in to this and would call me back....it has been 3 weeks and I have heard nothing from him. Go figure. I encourage everyone to NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT. IT IS HORRIBLE. Pros: Answered the phone when I called Cons: Everything more

Poor Customer Service 12/8/2009

Have purchased multiple cars there because of location. ALWAYS have problems with service dept. Now having problems with extended warranty coverage-was told is bumper to bumper but service dept. sez no. \r I would NOT recommend this dealership. Not just because of this instance but because of consistent problems between what I am told & what is real.\r I would have given zero stars for rating, but site asks for at least 1. Pros: Close to my house Cons: Service department more

I read the review on Beechmont Ford, and decided to go see Marcia. She was very helpfuull in finding me a used car. I was looking for a pontiac, she didn't have the one I wanted, but did find me one. I came in a few days later and picked it up. Thanks to Marcia and Beechmont Ford. I would recommend to others. more

BEECHMONT FORD 4/27/2008

I TOOK MY 2003 FORD MUSTANG TO THE DEALERSHIP AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. FIRST OF ALL BEECHMONT FORDS MECHANICS DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MUSTANGS. I TOOK MY MUSTANG THERE 3 TIMES, FINALLY I HAD TO CALL THE MAIN NUMBER FOR FORD TO GET SOMETHING RESOLVED. \r I'VE HAD THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS TERRIBLE. WHEN I TOOK MY MUSTANG THERE THE FIRST TIME THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT LEFT IT SITTING FOR 13 DAYS , DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO CHECK IT.\r THEN THE FEMALE THAT WORKS IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MADE A SMART REMARK LIKE "" YOU EXCEPT US TO DRIVE EVERY CAR TO MAKE SURE THEIR FIXED"". I DO EXPECT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO DRIVE THE CARS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE FIXED, OTHER DEALERSHIPS DO.\r I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED ON THE SERVICE I RECEIVED, I WOULD NOT SUGGEST TAKING YOUR CAR TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I REALLY DON'T THINK THEY COULD FIX A BICYCLE!!!!! Pros: THEY ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN YOU CALL. Cons: YOU RECEIVE TERRIBLE SERVICE. more

Great Car Buying Experience 9/4/2007

I have been looking for a car for several months. I recently started looking up and down Beechmont Rd. I went to Beechmont Ford used vehicles, and was greeted by a salesperson named Marsha. Much to my suprise, because usually you see men. She was very helpfull and curtious to me. I did purchase a 2007 Tarus from her. I am very happy with my vehicle and my car buying experience. I would recomend the dealership and her to anyone. They also gave me a rewards card so i get discounts in the future. more
