Axis Nightclub

While i was in Ohio for a weekend, we went to Axis night club. This club is in a very old building and in the winter months DONT go upstairs the roof is drafty. The "welcome to axis" staff is terrible. when i say that i mean that they are complete and utter dou*he bags that could care less about you. If you are under 21 they give you black "X" on both hands along with fluorescent wrist bands. if any of it is missing or they suspect you have been drinking they turn your ID into the police. The first night that i went it took them half an hour to give me my ID back because they were just sitting there talking about their own stuff. TOTAL TURN OFF! The crowd in this club is very diverse, and when i say that i mean it in both very good ways and very bad ways. Good ways are very diverse people, gay, straight, lesbian, and everything in between. When I say bad i mean drug users, and addicts who do drugs in the bathrooms and what not! Every other club i have EVER been to there is security everywhere making sure that none of that stuff goes on, but not this club. I would NOT recommend this club to even my enemies. more

My friends were all drinking mixed drinks and they were $6 each. Not only is that ridiculous for the kind of club it is (get real - it's a SHITHOLE), the drinks were ALL ICE. I was the DD and had a few Red Bulls that should have totalled $12; the next day, I checked my online banking and they charged $30 to my debit! Also, they're only open on Fridays and Saturdays, so there's nothing I can do about it for a WEEK. While the entertainment is amazing, the employees are thieves, plain and simple. I was attacked by gay bashers in front of the Axis Night Club exit. I was simply exiting the club when I was struck in the face repeatedly... a man stepped in to defend me and was knocked to the ground and hit repeatedly as well... I was then chased across the parking lot where two kind men stood by me while we waited for the police to arrive. None of the axis bouncers/workers/witnesses stayed to speak with the police about the gay bashing that had occurred at their establishment. I now have a bruised swollen cheek; a black eye and god knows what kind of psychological damage. Axis should face major repercussions for neglecting to protect its clientele. Being of the straight orientation, I can honestly say that this club is more fun than any other club I've been to. I have to say that the people at the entrance are a bit snotty but I can deal with that to go have fun on the dance floor. If you haven't been to the club yet, make sure to watch out for the showers in the center of the room. I didn't know what they were and got a rather,um, interesting surprise. Anyways, I recommend this club to anyone who like loud, fast music and bright lights, guys without shirts, and a fun atmosphere. Well the music is great specially on fridays. Drings are very affordable, bartenders are nice and I always have a lot of fun. I only have one complain, the people in the entrance are purely and hardcore bitches, I can stand people like that making a big deal for no ID's. Why don't you just mark us like under 21 and let us dance and have fun. Other than that the club is great. Thanks Guys!!!!!!! hey, i just want to say that this club is off da hook!! it has great energy, and all or mostof the peeps guys, are HOT! there is lots of bumping and grinding and touching and feeling and woooo.. check out the guys in their hot underwear on the box. dag on. if your looking for a good time with guys, this is it!!! i was searching for the club and i was looking for it by parking my car somewhere and walking and i found more than just a person to ask i found this guy that had blondish hair and a nice attitude and he told that if i went across the street because i was on the wrong side that i could find it there and that he was working there later that night and just because i can't remember his name right now because i was more admiring how he was nice to me to help me find what i was looking for more than just help finding a place to go at night but a place that i could have fun because im not the only one there having fun that the workers there are having fun doing what they do and the drag queens did more than just have a show but they made me smile :-D more

This club is funny to me. I will say that i always have a good time when i go. The music is really really good. the crowd is twinky but whatever. The only thing i don't like is the attitude. Somtimes those girls can get really out of hand. Also the "candy" use in the columbus gay community is RAMPANT! The place is more like CRACKsis. Overall i usauly go on the first or second saturday. The second saturdays are GREAT! off the hook! altho i do want them to remodel soon. That stage is wearing me out truly! more

I had a lot of fun at this club. I am a straight girl and it was a lot of fun to just sit back and enjoy watching the throngs of gorgeous men without being molested by them. I got there early, so parking was easy and there was no line at the door. The drinks were very good. The music was great, and although the floor was crowded, it was cool that everyone was dancing. When the crowd got to be too much in the main area, there were smaller areas to go to to decompress. Pros: Cute boys Cons: None more

When OSU is in session, this place is Hoppin'! Great, up-to-date music with plenty of places to hangout when you get tired of dancing. Big mix of crowd, with some of the best looking people in the city. Drink prices are average but strong. Get there before midnight or plan to wait inline and have trouble parking. People who may not like Axis are people who are insecure and out of shape. This is where people who take care of themselves and are proud of how they look hangout. So if this is not you, drop the negative attitude and go somewhere else. If you want lots of eyecandy, this is the place to come. Stand upstairs and peer over the balcony at the "Sea of Men". Pros: Music, Hot looking people, trendy Cons: Parking and crowded if you get there late. more

This is the most overpriced, obnoxious club around. The layout is awful...the crowd is gross...and the music is awful. The guys are all bitchy and if you aren't a regular expect to be molested as soon as you walk through the door. Plus...watch out for the strippers getting right up in your face. Pros: Nothing. this bar is a joke, 1- whoever design the dance floor, well ...shouldn't. i get it, it's the way it's shaped to reflect the name of the business...horrible for dancing 2- whats with all the attitude??????? 3-expensive? for columbus, yes, for chicago, YES!!!! 4-parking, what parking 5-go to q, at least you won't feel like you need a shower after you leave 6-no i don't work for q, just tired of hearing how great this overrated, badly designed, expensive, self serving bar is columbus' premiere dance club more

If Axis Nightclub were the UN, Columbus would have been bombed 50 years ago. While in town for an event, a group of friends and I attended Axis due to the fact that it is the "only cool place in town." Cool? Heh heh.....nope, try again. My friends and I are from all over the U.S. (mostly MAJOR cities like New York, Chicago, and LA) and have not seen so much attitude in our respective hometowns COMBINED as we encountered at Axis. Boys, a word of advice: you're in Ohio and most of you were born and raised in the middle of no where.....don't forget your roots. more

One of the best gay clubs around. Dancing, fun great looking people and a great place to hook up and meet some one dance with them on the dance floor and take'em home afterwards! Pros: Good parking, Not overly crowded, Great place more

Axis is a whole in the wall compared to the new Grid in Cleveland. You can also tell that the owners of the Grid care about there customers not ripping them. The scene in Cincinnati may not be that great but the Dock is one hundred times nicer and has a great outdoor area. Cons: parking, rip off more

This is definetly the best club in the state of Ohio. Cincinnati's offereing of gay clubs is extremely pathetic, as well as Cleveland's. Axis patrons may not realize just how fun their club is, but if they want an idea-travel to one of those other cities. And as far as the crowd, much more to look at here too.
