Auburn Place

I have lived in Auburn Apartments for 5 months, and I have hated it since the day I moved in. They are cheaply built and cheaply maintained by a lackadaisical negligent management team. Good luck if you live in a bottom apartment. I hear EVERYTHING. Even if my neighbors are tiptoeing across their living room floor it sounds like a stampede. If you do live in a bottom apartment, the neighbors stairs to their apartment run along your bedroom wall and every-time they come or go it's BOOM BOOM BOOM SLAM. You are an audible participant every-time they use the bathroom or do their laundry. And be cautious when your ceiling drips a bucket of water, unsure if it was do to a rainstorm or the neighbors. And RULES? Hahaha, that's laughable. 30 pound weight-limit for pets? I don?t think so. I was mandated to live in a bottom apartment for reasonable weight restrictions against my Golden Retriever, but when my upstairs neighbors have a Golden Retriever, a yellow Lab and a small dog mix, it apparently is of no concern to the complex team. I addressed the issue of noise and feces problems, and they said, we know, they snuck the dogs in there?. annnnnddddd? And nothing, there they stay, happily creating drum-solos above my head every day. And I?ve come to find out that not every pet owner has held up his or her contractual obligation of paying the $350 pet deposit. The apartments are cheap and mix-matched. From the mirrored closet doors to the shower knobs, nothing matches. And when you have a maintenance issue, they come over once (IF they come over) and then are never heard from again. My tub and sink are both rusting out, but Tetanus is of no concern to the property management. And not all of the apartments are the same. My friend's apartment across the way has a brand new electric thermostat and dishwasher, while mine has an old manual piece and a 1970's dishwasher. And my apartment is situated behind a club and a veterinary office. All day long I am privileged to random dogs relieving themselves in my backyard and at night the booming base from the club is not exactly a calming night melody. And last but not least, ""The sound of Freedom."" I knew there was going to be an issue when I signed a clause in my contract about Jet Noise. But the low-flying government employees sound as if they are parking atop the roof. I had a guest, and she took cover when she thought a plane was coming through the apartment. Save yourself the headache and drive up the street a block where apartments are nicer and cheaper. Ps. There are evil ugly ducks that run amuck and poop on everything! And almost every door is covered in bird-droppings. more

This is the worst place I have ever rented! The first day I moved in, the place was not cleaned, things were broken, the diswasher did not work, the washer and dryer did not work. There were bugs flying around in the apartment, fleas jumping all over you. The ducks were horrible camping out on the patio looking for food. The walls are paper thin. If you live in an upstairs, it gets extremely hot during the summer. Leaky faucets and high water bills. I had to get out of there. I can't believe how The Breeden Company talked about the integerity of the company and their rental properties are upstanding but yet they allow Auburn Place to lease/rent the apartments in the horrible conditions that they are in. They lied! more

This place used to be really good. We now have a Water company that charges MORE for water and sewage than a 5 bedroom house. If you want to pay $150+ a month for a shady water/sewar bill that even The BREEDEN Company cannot explain c'mon in! This place is great. I am the hoodlems running the streets at night. I am the child crying through the paper thin walls. I am the duck that chills on your back porch. You guys are the most n-l retentive individuals I have ever met in my life! It is a little pricey for those factors, yes, but it isn't enough to sit on here and act crazy. I like my place and if people are too loud, I voice my problems to whomever I have issues with. I find it disturbing that you have to anonymously get on here to vent your frustrations and make this place out to be a ghett0. I am fairly sure this is the farthest thing from it that I've ever had. We just moved in here about 4 months ago and are not impressed with the place. There are nights that my husband and I are lying in bed listening to conversations the neighbors are having. At times it will keep us up for hours. Living in a lower apartment we hear the neighbors upstairs walking around. It sounds like one of these times they are going to come falling through the ceiling. Be warned that the lower apartments get little visitors who leave nasty presents for you to clean up in the morning. The muscovy ducks are such a problem that you must put some sort of fencing up to prevent them from sleeping on your patio at night. Maitnence is done very quickly, but I have had them come back and fix the same problem over and over because the first time it was done they only temporarily fixed the problem. All of our faucets constantly leak. This is a problem because we do have to pay for water and so it all comes out of our pocket. Hmmm maybe that is why they don't care to fix leaky faucets the way they should. I can tell you that when our lease is up we will be out of here immediately. I would not recommend moving here. I loved my apt except the fact that when I opened my door crickets usually leaped in. The fireplace is in an unusual place. It is very spacious a little pricy. Although when I was moving out, the apt above me washing machine was draining and the hallway roof did fall, but luckily for me my furniture was moved the day before. overall the apts were very nice. more

The other reviews I read are accurate. You might look at this place and say a fair price for decent product. I disagree. They have more space than most, but the layout makes most of that space very difficult to use. The walls are paper-thin, without seeing any of them I know who and their ages of every one next to me and above. For the first few months i thought the ceiling was going to cave in, every footstep sounded like a car crash. After your lease, your rent will raise guaranteed. I have never had a problem with the staff though, and i complain a lot, broke things get fixed very fast. Both the place and the neighborhood are going down-hill. For the first year things seemed fine, now I hear gunshots occasionally. Shady kids walkin around at all hours of the night. I can not stand living here. The place is a joke for everyhting, managment, maintence, the hole horrible mess. The walls are so thin and you can hear and understand everything your neighbors are saying or doing. I would rather live in a hotel then live here. When my lease is up i am going to leave here and never look back. I thought it would be great with all the space and storage areas but i was dead wrong. The worst part of it all is i have a new born baby and i live right behind some bar and at night the music is so loud it rattles the bedroom windows and keeps me up until 1:45 am. I would not ever live here again. I can't wait until my lease is up b/c we're gone! The walls are so thin we shouldn't even have them. That is my biggest complaint about this place. I can hear everything my neighbors do. I can hear them talking, kids crying, kids running back and forth all day long. I can hear them peeing even. I can hear whenever they turn the water on or off.
