The last place to go for any derm or plastic surgery work you should go to in Wilmington. The MA's and nurses are not trained properly. It's all about the money and not quality of care. The staff are overbooked so the wait times are long. more

I've been going to Dr. Crane for many years. I feel like he has saved my Life! As an old RN, I really appreciate how much help I got with a diagnosis that is super controversial!! My 12 years suffering with a rash is now a thing of the past! There are ticks here in the south! Dr. Crane helped me help myself. I tried to take a medicine that made me feel like I was about to die years prior and I stopped taking it, but Dr. Crane tried once again with the medicine and I stuck it out and now feel so much better!! In May 2013 I went to Dr. Crane to have two dark spots removed from the calf area of my right leg. Both marks were half the size of the head of a penny. I went to Dr. Crane for something that would fade the marks. However, he suggested a freeze treatment for both marks---something I never had done before. I was not well informed of the side effects, nor was I told what the healing process would look or feel like. This type of care was careless and reckless. The treatment severely scared and irritated my skin and as of today, my leg looks horrible. I have four dark scars on my leg that are 10x worse than the two marks I went to the office with. I have been using shea butter to heal the marks and I am now using a fade cream to remove the scaring. This is a perfect example of why I should have just done my research on fade creams instead of going to a provider with TV commercials who SEEMS like a professional, but just another provider trying to make money. The marks blistered and burst while leaving horrible scars on my leg. I was told this is a normal part of the process, the severe scars on my legs say otherwise. Not only was the care I received from Dr. Crane horrible, but the office staff is THE WORST! I The women who work at the front desk are rude, rude, rude...and did I say rude! $5.00 per page. I immediately called the NC Medical Board while in the office to confirm this. Of course, this was false. This is just a horrible place to go for dermatology service. more

Staff was rude and the person doing my facial never stopped talking about her personal life. I won't ever go back. more

The Dr. Crane and his nurses are great and very helpful. They really seem to care a lot for the patients! more

I had an excellent experience at Atlantic Dermatology. I saw one of their PA's, Kelly Britt. The staff is polite and helpful. The office itself is clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend Atlantic Dermatology to my family and friends. more

My last appointment was for a checkup for skin cancer on 6/21/12. I made a appointment for my husband and I 15 mins apart. We waited over 20mins after signing a laundry list of forums. I have been a Atlantic Dermatology twice before but the doctor I was using (Dr. Benjamin) is retiring so I had to use a different one this time. Patricia Hood was who my husband and I saw...I do not feel she performed a skin cancer check as effective as my old doctor. It was more like she was rushing and hardly answered any questions. Later after talking with my husband we found she didn't check under my feet but under his...checked his scap but not mine...gave me information on sunscreen but not him. It didn't make since as we saw the same person. Both my sister and brother have skin cancer so I need someone who is going to do a good job and I do not feel that was done. I will say I do not feel confident whether I am skin cancer free or not at this point...I want to get checked out again. Also I made a appointment for my mother 6/26/12 as she has never been seen and even though I contemplated changing to a different person I knew my mother really needed to go so we went ahead with using Patrica Hood. We didn't make it past the front desk...we sat in the waiting room for a hour on the dot before we got up to leave. We saw the waiting room fill up and empty 3-4 times. We walked to the front desk to tell them we were leaving and the lady was like ""Oh whats your name?"" First of all did you not just seeing her check in!!?!!?!? WOW! After she told the lady her name the lady looked back and we saw her file still sitting on the desk!!!!!!!!! And the lady said, ""Oh we can get you in next!"" Unbelievable! Not to mention because I am self pay...by choice...it costs me more for insurance than to pay out of pocket for my appointments...but they treat you like you are ""less"" or poor I would say. I didn't like checkout at all. I don't know what is happening to this place and the customer service but I will not be returning, nor my husband, mother or brother!! more

The BEST in Wilmington 4/9/2012

I came in to see Dr. Crane after being unimpressed with my former dermatologist. I have occasional acne flair ups around my lady times and wanted a place to go for regular facials (alright, alright enough with the jokes!) and dermabrasions. The space is very clean, modern, and spa-like, but it's still a medical office. I didn't like my last derm because she was a little too froofy with her approach to me - I need medical treatment, not some organic crap that'll just make me break out more. While Dr. Crane and Dr. B are extremely busy, they are simply, the best!! more

The facts 4/9/2012

I came to Dr. C by way of Yahoo and was not let down. Heres the break down: -Dr Crane takes my not so great insurance -Didn't have to wait 3 weeks for said appt -Waited 5 minutes in waiting room -Clean and beautiful office -Attentive knowledgable Doctor -Quick and accurate diagnosis If you need a derm, I would highly recommend seeing Dr. Crane even if he is out of your way more

many thanks 4/9/2012

After reading the reviews I made an appointment right away to see Dr. Crane. I had a funky skin thing going on on my shoulder, and while it didn't bother me, it was getting annoying that people kept telling me about it. I know my body. Anyway, Dr. Crane was quick and efficient about checking me out and getting me the prescriptions I needed. He also gave me the full body exam - since my grandma has a melanoma on her face - and was patient to listen to my concerns. He removed it and it was virtual painless, thank you so much Dr. C, I WILL be back very soon. more

SO IMPRESSED!!! 4/9/2012

Ya gotta love finding a great doctor, even if you'll only use him once a year for skin checks =) Dr. Crane, Dr. Crane's assistants and his office are all 5 Stars.I didn't wait long at all, even as a first-time patient, to be shown to my room, and then did not wait long while I was in the room either. The room itself is more like an oasis into a resort spa. Soothing colors, paintings on the walls...no plain white doctor's walls that make you even more uncomfortable as you step into the exam room. Dr. Crane himself answered all of my questions and overall had a very welcoming and inviting demeanor. When I called the receptionist the next day to ask him a question, she left him a message, and he ended up calling me back that very same day. He was not at all annoyed that I had called, did not rush me in any manner so he could get to his next appointment and again answered all of my questions. I'm very glad I've found a doctor that has tried to go above just being your doctor at appointment time and who put a lot of thought and consideration when creating his office space. more

Highly Recomended 2/26/2012

I think Dr. Crane and his staff are great. They are all very proactive and attentive. I couldn't ask for more from a dermatology office. The best in Wilmington, NC. Hands down! more

Best choice I've made in a While! 2/26/2012

I was referred to Dr Crane by a close friend of mine and I couldn't be any happier with my decision to chose his practice. In my opinion he is the best Dermatologist in town( and i have made my way around Wilmington's skin care physicians) but i have never felt as ""at-home"" as I do at ADA. They always make sure to take care me. I give Dr. Crane and his associates my highest recommendation. more

Best Botox in Wilmington 2/26/2012

I cannot recommend Dr. Crane more highly for Botox injections! A close friend recommended Your Laser Skin Care, and even though I've had multiple Botox treatments in different Wilmington practices over the past couple of years - I thought I would try my friend's Botox doctor(Dr. Crane) I was pleasantly surprised and couldn't be happier with my choice. more

look great feel great 2/26/2012

Been here twice for minor skin issues. Treatment both times was prompt per my appointment time and I felt the doctor (Dr. Crane) was very informed and helpful both times. Would definitely recommend! more

5 Star Dermatology 2/26/2012

I'm a moley person. I grew up in the 70s and we didn't use things like sunscreen when we were kids, we roasted next to our parents while they slathered on oil with hopes to achieve that leathered look in 20 years. Alas, sun damage does occur. When I decided I should get checked out (ok, when my girlfriend urged me to go), I went to the first dermatologist that my HMO would pay for. To be honest, he sucked. I decided to switch to Atlantic Dermatology and I wish I would have came here in the first place. On my first visit they marked a ton of questionable moles to be removed. Of the approximately 50 removals I've had, only two came back from the lab as ""normal."" I guess that's a little piece of mind. The staff is very friendly, and I've gone through a few PAs since I've been there. I currently have Kelly Britt and she's just as nice as the rest, knowledgable, and in high-demand. The PAs even have a sense of humor. 5 Stars! more

The Best in the Business 2/26/2012

This is a great office, with a friendly, professional, and most importantly competent group of people that work there. It is lead by Dr. Crane and Dr. Benjamin, who are finest dermatologists you could ever find. I love going there. I leave there feeling I look years younger. You can't beat that. I am so happy with the whole Atlantic Dermatology Staff! more

Thank You 2/26/2012

I have only been coming here for about a year but theres no where else I would go. The work that they do here is so amazing. I no longer have embarrassing acne and they have worked to remove the scars left. I am so thankful, at Atlantic Dermatology the real helped my self confidence increase 150%, Thank you Dr. Crane and all of your great PA's and nurses as well. more

Awesome Atlantic Derm 2/26/2012

I was referred to this office by a coworker and they take our insurance. I have been seeing Dr. Crane for treatment of my acne and I really adore him. He's so nice and quite funny and he has done an excellent job with getting my acne under control and with getting rid of the small acne scars I had. My skin looks amazing now and several of the women I work with go there and are very happy with the results. I get peels from him and if I have an event or something coming up he will vary the strength of the peel according to what I need and do extractions or injections as necessary--which I need very little of anymore. Very happy with my treatment. Also I do purchase their skin care products here which are reasonably priced and have worked well for me more

Very Impressive 2/26/2012

I am extremely impressed with Dr Crane's practice, He really is an excellent doctor, and everyone of his staff an nurses are professional and knowledgeable in the field of dermatology. I have meet with a couple of Dr Crane's PA's as well, and everyone has been just as professional and polite, and they always get my botox treatments absolutely perfect! I cant wait until my next appointment! more
