I purchase a system in 2/2011, and have been trying to get a resolution since 6/2011. I have talked with several technicians and office people, who say they will get back with me or have someone who can work out a solution, contact me. After trying for several months to get a resolution. I ask for a refund as stated in my contract. After many many phone calls, emails and faxes, Arvell Moore has not responded. Do not do business with these folks, they do not honor their contract and will lie to you. more

No call back!!! 5/2/2012

I called on a Tuesday evening, My compressor went out and this is only a 6 year oil unit. I had Arvell Moore install. Well I received a call back and was told they would try to get somebody that night, however due to the time I called (6pm) they would be out first thing in the morning. Well the next day, I waited till about 11am. No calls, no service guy, so I called them and got the answering service. I explained myself, and she said she would relay the message. Then about 1pm, I called again, I didn't get a phone call from them or any information as to when the service guy would show up. Then about 2pm, I called back and told the answering service if I didn't get a call back within 1 hour, I was going to get somebody else to do the repair. They called back then and said it would be in the afternoon. If that was the time they were going to be able to get there, then they should have said that. I would not recommend for any AC work. They don't return calls until you threaten them to use somebody else. My dad used these guys years ago and they were great. NOW THEY SUCK!! DON""T USE THEM!! more

Arvell Moore Air conditioning don't know what they are doing 11/21/2011

They sent someone out to repair my A/C that was not blowing cool air. First the tech couldn't figure out how to operate the thermostat so he said it needed a new thermostat. I explained over the phone how to work it so then he came back saying we were 3 pounds low on freon and charged us $297 for repairs. Latter when I got home I called and complained because it was still not cooling. They sent another technician out that removed 3 pounds of freon saying he overfilled the system and that is why it wasn't working. I told him that was not a feasible reason for it not working so he investigated more. He went in the attic and noticed water in the drip pan and the pan had an overflow sensor on it. So he disconnected the overflow sensor and the A/C unit began to cool. Several months latter the overflow pan overflowed ruining the ceiling in a bathroom I had paid over $37 K to have redone a year before. The whole problem was the main drain for the drip pan was clogged and they came out and disconnected the safety backup system that was designed to protect my house. more

Bought complete unit from Arvell Moore a few years ago for thousands of dollars. Services was initially good when Mr. Moore owned it. Then they sold out and new owners won't back warranty or do anything except for cash. They promise to come out and just keep you waiting and give excuses. Waited two days for a repair and they still never showed up. Then when I kept calling they either hung up on me or let it going to answering service. more

Awful people!! 6/5/2011

This place really is the worst in Houston. The technicians didn't know how to fix the problem and were rude if I asked any questions. Apparently I was bothering them. The one technician acted like he was on drugs and when my husband met him, he assured me that he was. I would never let any of them back in my house. I hired a different company to take a look and and the technician was friendly and intelligent and fixed the problem. This company is not accredited by the BBB!!!!!! Do not trust them and if you want to save money and hassle call anyone else. Arvell Moore doesn't know what they're doing and when i called to complain to the woman in the office, she hung up on me. Do yourself a favor and don't call them. more

WORST SERVICE EVER 5/31/2011

I had this company install a new ac unit. Turns out they put in the wrong size drip pan therefore causing a leak in my ceiling which caused so much damage. I was polite and understood that things happen but the amount of time it took to get service and my ceiling fix was RIDICULOUS. A year later and there is ANOTHER leak in my ceiling in the same place. They were supposed to send someone the following day and said they would call if they couldn't make it. Surprise, surprise no call and no one showed up. It is now day 4 and my appointment was made for 2-4 pm which I only found because I had to call them to check on my appointment. I have tried calling for the last hour since they are now an hour late to see if anyone is even coming because I do believe I just wasted a day's pay to wait for the WORST service ever. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. It is so not worth the effort and the stress that they will put you through. more

Apparently the clown I had been talking to was the answering service and not the manager like he told me. Once I talked to Phillip he came out when he said he would, fixed the problem and did not charge us. more

DON'T USE ARVELL MOORE 4/13/2011

Arvell Moore did a total ac replacement on our house to the tune of $23,000. They did a horrible job, we now have mold back again, they made a big dent in the back of one of the units, they have never come out to service the units, they never completed the job and the worst part of this is that they will not return our phone calls and we have even threatened them with a law suit. DON'T EVER USE THEM. more

Call Weeks Instead 4/7/2011

On March 31 I spoke with Anita (their manager) and made an appointment for a servicing of our unit due to a leak. The soonest she could get someone out was Apri 6. Appt was set for 3:30-4:00 pm. I took the day off without pay to be there when they came. At 4:20 I called to find out how much later the tech would be arriving. Spoke with ""customer service"" rep John. No record of my appt. Asked to speak with Anita. Not in. After insinuating that I had the wrong day (although there was no appt on another day for me either) and much insistence on my part, he finally agreed to try to reach Anita and have her call me. After no call back, I called again, spoke with Colleen, another ""customer service"" rep. She said to call back in 2 hours, Anita would be in. I called back in 2 hours. Anita wasn't in. I called up until closing time, no Anita. No return call. The next day (today) I called approximately 10 times, left messages each time for Anita to call back. Their ""customer service"" reps are a joke...can't answer questions, can't resolve issues. This time John actually accused me of never having talked to Anita because she doesn't answer the phone. He also said she didn't return my calls because they were too busy, with summer starting (April 7th.) Glad to know my business means so much. more

Let me start by saying NEVER trust Arvell Moore AC & Heating. Dont take my word for it, go check out their BBB rating yourself. Long story short, I agreed to an install from Arvell Moore... gave them MY HARD EARNED MONEY, and the owner took my money, spend it... and never installed my new equipment. This whole experience has just made me sick, and I dont want to get all into my personal experience... I just want to get the word out there to consumers, dont ever trust Arvell Moore AC & Heating. Dishonest, not answering the phones, and not honoring servic 3/23/2011

I had a service call scheduled for 3/17/2011. No technician ever showed up so I call Anita and she had no Idea what happen. She said she would call me back and never has as of today 6/1/2011. I called Arvell Moore and they now have an answering service taking all of their calls. No Anita don?t work there anymore, wound what happen? The answering service is a 3rd party that have nothing to do with them just taking calls and will say they will give them the messages. I?ve left 64 messages as of today 6/1/2011 and guess how many they returned? If you said none, that is correct. I checked with State to see if they have a current license to do this type of AC/Heating work, the State of Texas said ? They haven?t had a License in the State of Texas since 1997?. If you would like to know more, call the State of Texas and refer to Fill# 10075340, you will understand why this company is in such a mess. Also beware, look like they are changing locations and with a new website that coming up listing them at and address of 3000 Weslayan St. Houston Texas. 77027, 731.622.2272. Just understand, this is the same old company from LaPorte Tx. NOTHING HAS CHANGED BUT THE LOCATION. Beware if you are doing business with this company, they will take your money and that is it. DO NOT buy any service contract with them, it not worth the paper it is written on. more

Stay away of them 8/3/2010

Yesterday, after their technician looked at my unit he told me to change it for $5222 at 12:00pm since the compressor was supposed to be 90% damaged and my system is an old one (R22) I needed to replace it all. Likewise, he would be able to replace it the next day; so, I told him to put it to work at least that day because I left my handicapped mom and another person there and I was working, Houston yesterday was 100+. He charged me $533 for replacing a ""capacitor"" ($50 price found on the web), a ""contactor"" ($30 price found on the web), and diagnostic as per invoice (no warranty & no freon charged). Of course, this money it was refundable ""IF"" I change the unit in one week. When I got home @ 4:30pm it was fresh instead of cool, 84 degrees as per thermostat, set at 79. So, I decided to get a 2nd opinion, 5000 buck is a lot of money. These 2nd people showed at 9:00, after their last work, they charged 4# of freon (I could feel the temp going down) and told me it could be a leak; so they told me to keep looking the temperature during the night. I woke up this morning and the system was still working smooth and cold 75 it was reset to 75 to test it. I called Arvell Moore to complain about what happened and they just told that technician was one of their top one; they will call me after talking to him and I am still waiting for their call. By the way, I was supposed to have 50% discount to be a new customer on repairs as per their web page, but it wasn't honor. more

Can't Be Trusted 7/31/2010

These guys convinced me to invest $11,000 in 3 new Condenser Units by ""guaranteeing"" that I would improve my energy efficiency by 30%. I ended up with a 10% improvement after 9 months using their new system. When I contacted them to ask them to make good on their ""guarantee"" they told me that I would have to invest another $3,000 in new coils (due to leaking) if I wanted to get better performance. They had specifically told me that I did not need new coils at the time they recommended I pay $11K for the new condensers and made the initial 30% efficiency improvement guarantee. They outright refused to honor their guarantee and even worse they claimed that unless I replaced my coils (3K) my system would not work. I immediately received a second opinion, and found that my coils were perfectly fine. These guys can not be trusted. Be careful of the manager Doug. He and his subordinates are in the business of inventing problems so that you can pay to fix them. Their GUARANTEE is worthless. Pros: None That I Can Think Of Cons: Guarantee Worthless / Try To Sell Repairs You Don't Need more

arvell moore air cond & htg 7/27/2010

My fan on my ac unit stopped working saturday so I called arvell moore to come and take a look at the unit.When the tech arrived he looked at the unit for 1 minute and immediately told me my unit neds to be replaced and there is nothing he can do about it but sell me a new unit for 4800.00 dollars or buy a compressor with install will run me about 1800.00 dollars so the next day i called john moore and a tech came out and told me all I needed was a capicator for my unit and once the tech installed the capicator my ac was back running and it was only a 250.00 dollars job with part and labor so with that being said I would not recommend arvell moore to anyone!!! I can show proof of both qoutes if needed from arvell moore and john moore.Hopefully this will help the next person out. Pros: 24/7 response Cons: will tell you you ac unit is no good more

Arvell Moore-poor office staff and credit card practice 6/2/2010

My main complaints are two: they used my credit card to pay their suppliers/subcontractors without my permission and the insulation supplied does not meet the standards printed on the bags of material. The office help does not seem to connect with the supervisor nor with the assigned workers. They tried to charge a different price (oddly lower than the contract) when the first insulation was done; I asked to see my signed contract: they do not have it. They returned after I stopped payments on my credit card. Three weeks of headache and substandard insulation. I feel the office is out of control. No problems in 2009. Pros: Good for airconditioning in 2009 Cons: Poor standards for insullation work in 2010 more
