Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors

I built a new house and Abbey Capitol Floors installed all the carpeting and tiles throughout the whole house- they did the works. The installation was great, but the billing situation itself was very confusing. Because it was a new home being constructed, there were a lot of different projects and the billing got very confusing. I would get double bills even though I had already paid them and the statements were repeating themselves. Instead of billing everything under one big job, they divided it up so it became very confusing. I am still confused about what really happened, and I am concerned that I might have overpaid by a few thousand dollars. However, it was honestly such a big job that I would have to go back through all of my old statements and checks to figure out what really happened. The overall experience was great, but the billing issues needed to be addressed. Lori, the owner, was instrumental in helping me decide on the tiles when we were picking out which materials to use. I really appreciated her help and advice on that. She really went above and beyond looking for materials. If I wanted a certain material that I had in mind and they didn't have it, she would go do the research and find it for me. When it came to the price, she really sharpened her pencil and calculated it out for me. She was really good about finding out what the cost for each thing would be per square foot. She stayed within the budget I gave her, but I actually didn't. It was a 4,000 square foot house, so there was a lot of area to cover and it was a huge job. The installer did a great job. Everything looks really good. It was absolutely a professional, high quality job. the installers went above and beyond. Other than the billing issues, my overall experience was good, and I love supporting local businesses so I would recommend them. In regards to the billing my account manager Carrol is very detailed with her account receivables. We also use a software program that invoices all materials and labor. They checked everything out that we had damage on. They gave us a great estimate. We had a worker named Larry who was just fantastic, helpful and hardworking. The prices were fair and we were very happy with our experience. more

They didn't hold to their schedule and wouldn't call me when things were not on schedule. The project took longer than they said and I had put my dogs in kennels expecting them to adhere to the schedule they gave me. There were a lot of communication problems. The installation was good, but not as good as I would expect. I loved the design I got and the products they used, but they were majorly lacking in the customer service department. From the beginning, Lori at Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors was very helpful in choosing the kind of carpet we needed. When we found out that our carpet color choice wasn't available, in order to speed things up, she helped us choose another color to get things done quicker. The gentlemen who came to install where nothing short of fabulous. They worked very quickly getting the old carpet out, and they worked very quickly getting the new carpet in. We were very happy with the final job; it was very well done. We originally went in there looking for an area rug. We ended up deciding that getting carpet in the other rooms was more important, so we'll definitely be going back to get an area rug from them. more

I did two transactions with Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors, one was to get a tile order and they were excellent to work with and very customer focused and delivered on time. The secondly, they replaced our carpet. They educated me about different kinds of carpets along the way and the subcontractor company that they hired to do the installation, they were excellent to work with. Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors honored their bill and I absolutely recommend them and will go back to them again. I like doing work with local people and they were absolutely great. more

This was our first time working with Abbey Capitol Floors. They gave us a great overall sales experience, the staff was very knowledgeable and super friendly. When they delivered the materials, a light wood and a dark wood, the light wood had uneven edges and irregularities, and we're not totally thrilled but it's already installed so we'll just deal with it. The installation was perfect, the installers were top grade, very clean, organized, and really knew what what they were doing, so it went really quick. Overall, it was a mostly good experience, and we would call again. more

Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors completely re-floored my home. They installed Berber carpet in the bedrooms, closets, and living room. In the bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room, and entryway they installed vinyl plank flooring. Also, they put in a subway tiled back-splash in my kitchen. They did the carpet in three days and the vinyl in two days. They arrived on time and cleaned up well when they were finished. I thought the prices were reasonable. I dealt with Dave in the store and I told him what I wanted. He recommended different products and I went from there to select what I needed. He also answered my questions about taking care of the floors. For example, he recommended the best type of vacuum for Berber carpet, and explained how to clean the vinyl. Dave called every day the workers were here to check in with me and see if I was satisfied. I also felt that the workers themselves really wanted me to be happy and satisfied before they left. I felt like I was in good hands having them do the job. They were professional and knowledgeable. They are currently helping me get support for an issue with the flooring. I also appreciated that they traveled an hour and a half to my house. Excellent experience overall. more

Not only was Dave from Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors very easy to work with and easy to talk to, but all his contractors who installed our floors were wonderful. They were conscientious and took care of our home while working in it. So, I was impressed with the contractors as well as Abbey Capitol Floors. I highly recommend them. I can't say they're the cheapest or more expensive, because we didn't do a lot of shopping around. But, when we found the materials we wanted, that's who we went with. We got great value for what we spent! more

I went to Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors when I didn’t have enough tile for the shower I was remodeling myself. The staff was very informative as far the caulking and sealing products. They came through with the order and let me know if anything was not going to be on time. It took me longer than I thought, but they were very knowledgeable. They were also very patient picking out our carpet and keeping it within my price range. They explained the qualities of the carpet, like where the heaviest walking areas where so that the carpet wouldn’t wear out. In the installation process, the people were professional and easy to work with. So, I recommend Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors! more

We had Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors carpet install carpet in our living room and three bedrooms, and hardwood floors in the halls and dining room. We liked the quality of the product and the service. The only reservations we had was the availability of some of the products. There are some transition strips we would have done differently. Our salesperson was extremely conscientious and attentive to needs, and very impressive! more

It involved a laying of the floor and recommending the type of flooring to us. We love our new floor. It's beautiful. We put down tile in kitchen and bathroom. I have an oddly shaped room, so I had pre-measured the floor. The salesperson at Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors said you should always install the carpet so that the seams fall the same way that the sun comes into the room. When the installer came, the first thing he did was try to talk me into putting the seams the other way. I don't think the salesperson and the installer meshed, so Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors could do a better job in that regard. I know that they just hire out installers sometimes, so I don't know if that was part of the problem. In the end, the installer did put the seams the way that the sun came in. He had to cut more angles that way. He wasn't too happy about it, and it took him extra time, but he did it. The carpet is beautiful! We picked a really low-pile carpet, so now the dog can lay on it. The color is great too. It looks 200% better! more

Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors laid carpeting and vinyl in our duplex at a retirement community. Communication between the staff at our community and the company was the only slight problem we encountered with the experience. Dealing with Lori was tremendous and the experience was great overall. We just love our new floors! more

Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors installed a hardwood floor for us. The floor installation went great, and the product looks great. When they got to the stairs, we discovered that the manufacturer had sent a nose piece that didn't match the rest of the material. Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors really bent over backwards to try to resolve this for us. We ended up getting the stair nose from a third party, so the stair installation took a long time. We can't thank Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors enough for helping us get it right! more

I would like to differentiate a little bit between the sales and installation of the carpet I bought from Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors. On the sales side, everything went very well. The guy who sold me the carpet was great. He was knowledgeable and helpful and made the experience easy. However, when the carpet was installed, the installers put the seam for the pad right in the middle of the doorway. There is now a crunch anytime you walk in because of the seam tape they put on it. In short, Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors has great customer service, but is slightly lacking when it comes to installation. We went to Abbey's because we used them before. They did an excellent job last time. They completed all the work in one day. We did get other bids from other companies, but Abbey was competitive. We appreciate them being there. A lot of people may pass them by because their store is a home grown type of store, but they are even better than other big places in some senses. For example, most carpet has to be ordered, but here we never had any problems. We've used Abbey many times. We last used them in 2006 and we had the same guy help us this time. It was nice to see the same faces return. I highly recommend them. more

This was the first time I worked with Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors. They installed carpets in two bedrooms, and luxury vinyl in the master bath. The gentlemen that performed the service were extremely experienced and capable. They never took a break, and I kept trying to get them to take one, haha. Laurie from Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors was very friendly, helpful, and just wonderful to work with at the store! She was there to serve, and to answer my questions. I also liked their carpet selection. The installers Ken and Norie were also absolutely wonderful! I can't say enough about them. The job looks beautiful! They did an excellent job on the stairs in our home, and they were very friendly, helpful, and again, eager to serve! We are extremely pleased with the carpet selection and the quality! more
