I travel a lot with my job and also for vacation travel. This boutique hotel is the best I have stayed at in Texas. Pulling into the covered driveway, there's a beautiful mural. The staff told me it's the largest mural in San Antonio. The hotel lobby was pretty, beautiful tiles and more murals. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I was concerned by the reviews I had read from a couple years ago, but my son lives in San Antonio and said I would love this hotel. He was so right! They had a change in management about year ago, and have made so many upgrades. It was elegant, but very comfortable. Wonderful amenities in the rooms, clean, clean, clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was to die for!! Big whirlpool tub and stand up shower. Bathroom was not small, plenty of room to move around!!! King size bed and plasma TV in the hotel room. I had a great night's rest!! Enjoyed the quiet and relaxation time! There is a wonderful coffee/breakfast lounge area, and terrific bar called Bar-Salona. Tried the sangria and tapas! What a treat! There is a beautiful heated pool with a lot of green areas to relax!
This would be a great hotel for a business traveler or family vacation. It is downtown, but not on the beaten path. Close to the downtown attractions, easy access to the airport. They even have courtesy cars for their guests. No problem getting a taxi, made for an easy relaxing trip. I won't stay anywhere else when I'm in San Antonio. There is a parking garage attached to the hotel with the best rates in the city! Much more reasonable than the other hotels in the area.
Overall, this is the best trip I've had in along time. I will be coming back to San Antonio to see my son and I won't stay anywhere else.
