After searching and searching for the perfect room for our anniversary/birthday night of romance I decided to go with this place. After booking the room I then thought I should check reviews. I was so nervous about the stay after reading the reviews. However, I kept the reservation and tge room was a lot better than expected! I've already booked my room there for NYE!!! more

Fabulous vacation 7/8/2011

Just returned from a fabulous vacation in San Antonio. Had a great time. We stayed at the Riverwalk Plaza.....what a find.....all the comforts of an upscale hotel at a very affordable price. We were out enjoying the sights during the day but were able to come back to the hotel for a dip in the pool and freshen up before heading out to dinner again. The location is central and the hotel even has its own dedicated parking lot....a bonus! I am already planning our next vacation in this fabulous city and will definitely stay at the Riverwalk Plaza again. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our vacation so memorable. more

I would highly recommend this hotel. 7/5/2011

Our company held a professional staff development workshop for educators here. The prices were exceptionally reasonable. It was a delightful experience, and we are planning to return for our five-day Summer Institute in June. We were looking for value and quality; while this was not a five-star hotel, our expectations were exceeded. We were very impressed with the quality of everything, from the professional and prompt service to the food and beverage, to the Internet speed and the wonderful boardroom. Our small group had a wonderful time!The Monterrey Room was a great place to just relax; it was huge, comfortable and very quiet, with beautiful, soothing music. They have a lending library and a grand piano as well! The board room was large, with very high ceilings and one wall was a floor to ceiling library. The brick and wood materials were reminiscent of Old World architecture, and gave the room a pleasant ambiance. One end of the room was enormous windows, giving us the comfort of natural lighting - not like most common boardrooms of just plain walls and no windows. I would highly recommend this hotel. more

My husband and I had a wonderful stay during fiesta. Right from late check in due to flight delays through to checkout, we had a memorable stay. This charming historic hotel is close to all the major sites and the riverwalk. We could walk everywhere. We even spent an evening in the bar and met really interesting fellow travellers with whom we visited a deer ranch. The rooms look new and are well equipped with all modern amenities. Unfortunately, room service was not available the one night we stayed in. The front desk manager was more than obliging to order in for us. Thank you to all the friendly staff. We shall be back with our family soon. more

Clean rooms, fantastic location, great staff! We had 4 rooms - they gave us a view of the RW. Wallking distance to Alamo, Market Square, shopping, what more could you ask? more

Great Experience 6/16/2011

Ive never stayed at a 'boutique hotel' before, and after this one, I will try and book them wherever I go. This was a unique hotel with lots of personality and for the price we paid, was well worth it. My family and I were in town to see the tourist sights and alhtough the weather was muggy, the hotel's location made it very easy (best part) to go to the Alamo, Riverwalk, etc...It was affordable, clean, service was great, plus there were art and pictures of san antonio 100 years ago all over the place with. Our room was comfortable with a balcony that looked right at the Tower of the Americas where we had dinner one of the nights. For the price this is the best. more

Will return to the Riverwalk Plaza again. 6/10/2011

This place is great, in the heart of downtown, yet quiet nd clean. Stayed in a Jr suite, very nice, fair prices, but most important, the staff, from Vanessa at the front desk to Bruce in the dining room, are excellent at what they do and how they do it. We moved here mid way through a conference due to issues at a major name hotel, and will return to the Riverwalk Plaza again. more

Definite value for the money. 6/8/2011

Definite value for the money. From a comfort standpoint this hotel is great (great bed), room amenities, right down to the upgraded ionic blow dryer, shower cap, and make up mirror in the bathroom. With all of the usual amenities, it was great to have a cafe, bar, and restaurant within the hotel and be right next to the river walk. We really enjoyed relaxing at the outdoor courtyard pool. Great staff as well. We had stayed at this hotel 1.5 years ago - they have made a great deal of improvements to their rooms since then. We plan to visit again next year! more

I loved the soft fluffy pillows 1/27/2011

The building itself looks very old and rundown, but the rooms are exquisite. I loved the soft fluffy pillows and the flat screen tv. I asked if they had a microwave in the hotel and they brought us up one! The rooms are spacious and the breakfast was just what we liked coffee, bagels and cereal. more

Location is very convenient 1/20/2011

I stayed this hotel for 4 nights, as an attendee of a conference. I enjoyed staying there with a large room and good staffs. Location is very convenient, where any downtown hot spots are in the walking distance, safe and quiet. The room was clean, enough everything and confortable. Good iron and plate. more

For my husband and I this hotel scored excellent on all counts - the lobby area, the breakfast area and the bedroom/bathroom were spotless. The room we had (king with sofabed and balcony) was a very good size, had a comfortable bed, was well furnished and everything was in working order. more

I wanted to see San Antonio and be near to the Riverwalk. The hotel was chosen at random from the u/k. It was an excellent choice and I stayed for 6 nights. The reception staff were extremely helpful, the room was more than adequate,clean with very good maid service. The bathroom facilties were also of a good standard more

Having made our arrangements on the internet, one is never quite sure how the facility will live up to it's online persona. I am happy to say it was everything it claimed to be and better than I expected. The staff was lovely and friendly, everyone from the front desk to the maintenance crew greeted me each time more

I travel a lot with my job and also for vacation travel. This boutique hotel is the best I have stayed at in Texas. Pulling into the covered driveway, there's a beautiful mural. The staff told me it's the largest mural in San Antonio. The hotel lobby was pretty, beautiful tiles and more murals. The staff was welcoming and helpful. more

Nice Bar 12/9/2010

Being the first time I've visited San Antonio since i was young, this hotel was fit for that weekend/holiday trip for my friends and I. They had a nice open area for the bar/ restaurant and even a cafe with a fairly extensive menu. The food was unique with special tapas and flavorful with different types of cuisine. more

Our room was great and the beds were out of this world 11/24/2010

My wife and I had a weekend without our kids and decided to "play tourist" . The hotel was simply wonderful. It had a relaxing -at home feel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to all of our requests. Our room was great and the beds were out of this world -Where can I buy those mattress and pillows??. more
