California Cafe Bar & Grille is located near the Stanford Mall in a place informally known to Stanford Students as "the Barn"
The food is distinctively American, and many residents come here for the brunch.
One piece of advice: the crab cakes are great. They are on the breakfast menu (served all day), and they come with a abundant serving of eggs and toast. (Cost: $14)
They also have great burgers at the California Cafe too. The burger I ordered was cooked just right (medium well) and was huge and juicy. The fries were also great (crispy and not too well done)
Service is so-so. Our waters were filled frequently, but the food took a while to come out, and our server took a while to come take our order. It was a busy day when we went, and there should have been more wait staff hired. That said, I've had a great experience there and would recommend this place to anyone wanting to go for brunch.
