You dont need an appointment for this place, but you might want to so that you can ask for the best guy they have, he's got an eye for making you look good. Of course, he also charges the most ($60 i think). He'll give you a really cool, hip, and funky cut and you look great leaving the salon. However, I was never able to recreate that look the following days.
