I was born and raised in La Crosse, and to go to the Sweet Shop was always a treat. From the Sundaes, to the caramel suckers and other candies! I moved away when I was 16(I am now 42), but I am sure to visit the Sweet Shop every time I am home. My children, 17 and 15 both ask to go there when we are in La Crosse for a visit. You have to try their chocolate covered cinnamon sticks and sponge candy!! My sister treats our Mom to a box of candy every Christmas. Did you know they will ship candy orders?? Everyone seems to talk about the candy, but this place is still like the old fashioned ice cream shops. They still serve the hard ice cream and scoop it out of the tubs into the old fashioned malt glasses, and the old fashioned sundae cups. You need to visit this small candy/ice cream shop. It is one of the few great things left from yesteryear!
