El Sur has only been open.....a year, maybe two???? (Sorry, I can't remember exactly)
All I know is that our family is glad we found it.
The food is tasty and the service is generally quick and good. We have had dicey service on occasion, but those times the place was EXTREMELY busy. I think more and more people are finding this small and YUMMY place. (Darn!! I debated about writing this because more of you will make it even busier! LOL)
The prices for an entire dinner plate can be as low as $4.99/5.99. Including the main item, rice & beans and a tortilla.
They have many dishes to choose from and I don't think I have ever had anything I did not like. The calabicitas are very good. The large is a huge amount and you will have enough leftover to have a veggie w/your next meal. YUM!!
I also like this place because they supported our very own Palo Verde Park, Sauharo Little League.

It is a little tricky to find, but probably easier now that they have painted it BRIGHT yellow and red.
It's on the south side of 22nd St., just west of Craycroft. They have take-out too. Beer by the bottle is also available.
