I had Zimmerman come out to replace the water valve system behind my tub because I created a leak trying to replace the hardware. I was very grateful. They were very nice and respectful to me and my house but I had no idea of what the labor would cost. It cost a lot more than the parts they charged me to fix it. To be fair they worked and had to make a trip to the store (~45min) accumulating 3.25hr, a one man job with 2 men. Since one was training they only charged me for one technician labor. My labor was $444.00 with a 10% discount. When I called the company to explain how they figure the labor cost they said the technician charges whatever they think is reasonable for the job. So I can't say the 10% discount was beneficial when they can charge you what ever amount to begin with. So they think it was worth $136.61 an hour that is with the 10% discount. I'm sorry I don't consider that reasonable. I was prepared for $85 an hour not $136.61+. I'm not trying to downgrade their occupation but please! They leave their door wide open to charge whatever they like charging. How does one prepare for an unknown and non calculable cost? They are good and clean and nice but you take your own chances with paying whatever they think they should charge you.
