Review content:
I am always reluctant to use a new repair service/contractor, etc. However, I am sorry I didn't find Weltman sooner! We have a very old (1949 - copper pipes in floors) radiant heat system that uses a Burnham boiler. It simply stopped working, so I called Weltman. Given their large staff, they responded in one day and Brian L. came to assess the issue. Not only did he fix the problem (an electronic component needed to be replaced), he also identified a problem that could have ended in tragedy!
Specifically, in testing the operation of the burner after it was repaired, he noted that a ventilation hood was getting too hot (more than it should). As part of his investigation, he pulled the vent pipe from the chimney and found that the inner wall of the chimney had flaked off over the years enough to almost entirely block the burner vent pipe. This could have resulted in carbon monoxide flooding the TV room in the basement (where we spent a lot of time!).
So, not only did Brian L. fix our burner, but he also diagnosed and corrected a potentially fatal problem!
Thanks to Brian and the entire Weltman team! We will definitely be repeat customers.
