I visited the Harker Heights Store today in an effort to pay a bill. Upon entering I was greeted as usual, however once I stated that I was there to pay a bill I was immediately directed to a machine that could handle this for me. I informed staff that I was paying in cash and did not have any account information with me. I was informed with a chuckle by staff that this would not be a problem. Clearly the staff was enjoying their downtime and wasn’t going to allow a needy customer to interfere… I reluctantly conducted my business with a machine as Ray assisted me in doing so. However I was more than offended that my needs posed an inconvenience to the staff so much so that I had to conduct my transaction with this machine rather than a live representitive… It would appear this machine is more for the service reps that for the customer. And we wonder why and how our world is getting lazier and lazier… Today I walked into a store full of representivtives who were perfectly capable of assisting me and instead of doing so, directed me, infact insisted that I use a machine.
