Review content:
I have yet to have a bad meal here. I started going to the Bakehouse a little less than a year ago and I have enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner there multiple times. This place's atmosphere made up of extremes. Your choice of a naturally lit dining room with plenty of windows or a backroom booth lined map room that makes you feel like you are in the dining car of the Orient Express. Bring your appetite, because like all diner-like restaurants, they don't skimp on portions and there's really nothing light on the menu. \r
My favorite breakfast right now has to be the marvelous Mushroom Omelet made with Burgundy Sautéed Mushrooms with Swiss Cheese--amazingly decadent. I've tried their burgers, also which are really yummy and also just inhaled the South Austin Wellington for dinner one night, which is a chopped sirloin steak baked in puff pastry with cheddar cheese and mushrooms and served with Burgundy Sauce. All the prices are MORE than fair and this place seems to be a secret as I have never seen it filled to the brim with hungry customers. So there is a down side...no Pepsi or Coca-Cola on the premises. Can you fathom that? RC products only. But we can't all be perfect. Have I mentioned they have a great side bar and amazing selection of Bavarian beer?
