Good job, Masala. I went there for the first time a few years ago with friends who lived a few blocks away and RAVED about it. But it turns out that, as usual, their taste kind of sucked -- yeah, not so good. But WOW have they improved. I don't know what has changed, whether it's the management, the chefs, or just the fact that they realized that just because they're at Irving and 9th doesn't mean they don't have to try, but everything we had was really fantastic. The service was fast, friendly, attentive-but-not-hovering, and the food, from the standard Chicken Tikka Masala, Palak Paneer and papadam, to the the lamb biriani and spicy potatoes (don't even know what it was called, actually, but tasty indeed). A definite recommendation. And at the end of the day, with rice, raita, naan and one drink each, it was still only $14 per person. And unlike Naan and Curry, you can actually bring uptight family from out of town... Pros: Great service, Good food, Fantastic neighborhood dining Cons: Parking probably isn't great, but we walked.
