My 2001 Subaru Outback was making a horrible squeaking noise...it started out of the blue. Being short on cash, I put off taking it in for service. Soon after the squeaking, the brake light and battery light started blinking alternately when I would turn on my car. I finally called the shop to have it looked at.\r \r I was scared that it was going to end up being a power steering pump or some other god awful thing that would cost $600 dollars. John called me to say that a belt was loose..in fact, shredded and it would only be about $125 to fix it. The lights and squeaking was due to the fact that the belt for the alternator and the belt for the power steering hook to the same thing...so as the belt shredded up, the charge on the battery went down and the power steering started to give out.\r \r When I got to the shop I had the best suprise EVER! The mechanic had remembered that I had gotten a new alternator from PDX Automotive - IN FEBRUARY!!! I was going to mention it once I got to the shop, but John told me there was NO CHARGE before I could even get it out.\r \r These guys are great. They know cars and they know customer service. I have recommended them to a ton of friends.
