I don't get my hair cut often, but, needed a new style before my wedding. I had *major* trust issues. I had a cut a couple years back that ended with me looking like princess leia with a mullet. ~shudder~ So, I asked the girls at work where I could get something hip and trendy for someone my age (26), and I was told Beauty Brands was the place to go. I made an appointment with a mid-range stylist (based on years of experience, not skill level), Matt. I came in and put myself entirely in his hands. He advised me to stop trying to keep my hair straight and work with the waves. He started snipping and pretty soon I had curls instead of waves! He asked me if I knew what a diffusor was, and i started talking heating and cooling systems ~sheepish~. So, he showed me the proper way to use one, the do's and don't's. I picked one up in the shop on the way out for around $10, which had adaptors to fit my current hair dryer. I have gotten SO many compliments about going curly, and it is definitely a hotter and younger look. My friends pitched in and bought me some highlights, and I was seen by Melanie. She was really sweet and did a great job (although she looked a little daunted when she saw how thick my hair was). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I sort of fear a salon being a snooty sort of place where I might be looked down on for not doing much with my appearance, but, there was none of that here. I'll be going back there again. Pros: Great stylists. Good product choice in store. Cons: None.
