Review content:
I dined here at least once a month since it opened its doors (in 1998 or 1999, I think) until shortly before Ike. The employees and owner were always friendly and helpful, and the cuisine was slightly unusual and very good. By far my favorite restaurant in Galveston, and one of the best ""breakfast"" spots EVER; and I find the prices and portions to be consistent with other establishments of similar calibre. For optimal enjoyment, I recommend going there for an early breakfast and staking out a table on the porch, ahead of the hordes. As a matter of fact, the only less-than-wonderful experiences I ever had here were when I chose to dine there at very busy times: parking and dining space is limited, and the high ceilings make for a very clamorous atmosphere when the place is packed. Though I now live in Hill Country - and only occasionally make trips back to the area - you can bet my next trip will include a visit to Mosquito Cafe`! Pros: Great food and atmosphere Cons: Parking, noise and crowds during peak business hours
