Do not shop from this store unless you'll love what you buy? for life! Last Saturday I visited the South Towne Beauty Express to purchase a flat iron. Upon using the appliance I found it to be cheaply made & it ripped my hair out with each stroke. I promptly returned it to the original packaging and went to return it with RECIEPT OF PURCHASE the following Monday. I explained my dissatisfaction to the barely-in-high-school employee and asked for a refund. She informed me that store policy does not allow refunds, only store credit. This store offers only 1 other brand of flat irons, that brand being cheaper than the one I was returning. Unsatisfied I asked to speak with the manager, in which I was then informed that she would not be in until Friday!\r I then wrote my name and number down and asked for the manager to contact me. When she finally did she left a message accusing me of being a ?livid customer? (apparently a ?livid customer? is anyone who expresses frustration in being taken advantage of) and used this as a cowardly excuse to say ?I can not speak to you about this issue.? She continued on to claim that she personally rang up my purchase and remembers verbally explaining the return policy, which is disturbingly dishonest and untrue, unless trying to sell me on the rewards club is explaining the return policy. I have now had to ?exchange? this appliance twice, the first for the reason mentioned above, and the second because it failed to power on after 4 days of use.\r Never would I have gambled on purchasing a $130 flat iron if I knew I could not return it if it was unsatisfactory, NEVER. Now I am forced buy $130 worth of shampoo or hairspray from a dishonest vendor. It is very disappointing that a company of this size operates on such a low customer service standard. Unless you are purchasing a tried and true product you know you?ll be happy with, I do not recommend giving your business to this store. Pros: They will stay in business a long time from taking advantage of their customers! Cons: Terrible terrible return policy, unskilled uneducated employees, egotistical and dishonest manager.
